Background

TESDA Davao Oriental with its training arm Provincial Training Center-
SIMTRAC jointly conducted a Livelihood and Skills Training in Brgy. Maragatas, Lupon
Davao Oriental.

A total of twenty-five (25) IP Women’s attended the 15 days Livelihood and Skills
Training in Bocarillo Processing, Pineapple Jam Processing, Banana Chips Making and
Calamansi Nectar Making on November 24, 2021.The said activity was facilitated by
Miss Lyra Mae Z. Quiñones the Food Processing trainer of PTC-SIMTRAC.

This training is under the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP) initiated
by TESDA that aims to provide more innovative approaches to TVET linked to the
requirements of industry to mainly address unemployment.

For CY 2022, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority

(TESDA) is mandated by Director General Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña to expand its
reach and cater additional special clients identified under President Rodrigo R. Duterte's
Executive Order No. 70 s. 2018 known as "INSTITUTIONALIZING THE WHOLE-OF-
NATION APPROACH IN ATTAINING INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE PEACE,
CREATING A NATIONAL TASK FORCE TO END LOCAL COMMUNIST ARMED
CONFLICT, AND DIRECTING THE ADOPTION OF A NATIONAL PEACE
FRAMEWORK". This directive aims to provide skills training, entrepreneurial skills and
assessment on the identified Special Clients – including IPs, Former Rebels and Mass
Supporters and their families to reinforce social cohesion and strengthen and preserve
the unity of the communities.
