Light waves Activity


Title of the Activity: Can you see the light?
Purpose: To observe how light interacts with different materials.
Materials: White paper, facemask, plastic wrap, textbook, and towel

Procedure:
1. Shine a flashlight trough one of the materials. Observe how much of the light passes through.
2. Estimate the percentage of light that passes through the material. Record your estimate in the data table.
3. Repeat step 1 and 2 for each remaining material.
4. Rank each material in order from the one that allows the most lights to pass through to the one that allows the least
amount of light to pass through.
