II. Organization Information

a. Mission statement. Brunswick Community College offers students’ resources to

excel by accessible, high-quality, student-centered programs and services that

serve a diverse population in terms of schooling, culture, and workforce.

b. Background. New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is a state school

spread around numerous areas in New Brunswick, Canada: Moncton, Miramichi,

Fredericton (its headquarters, Saint John, St. Andrews, and Woodstock). New

Brunswick Community College offers approximately 90 services in the province

of New Brunswick, delivered at six locations and First Nations sites and national

service sites. New Brunswick Community College boarded on a self-governance

pattern with the New Brunswick Community Colleges Act's proclamation on 29

May 2010. The transition formed NBCC as an independent public entity through

which the university's president and Chief executive officer claims to an

appointed Board of Governors. New Brunswick Community College provides

more than 90 conference facilities across 18 areas and offers extra professional

development through part-time courses in several apprentice trades, business

customers, and individuals. New Brunswick Community College was among the

first colleges in North America to offer a computer game programming program.

c. Organizational Structure. Both students should read, and the emphasis at

NBCC. The institute ensures learning for the students, and this is the priority for

NBCC. The students study in many forms and a range of resources will be given

for practical implementations of what they have learned. Students need to show

their comprehension of critical information and skills and consciously engage

themselves in this awareness to solve challenges and deliver quality research.

Curriculum and teaching practices integrate a range of educational actions to

accommodate the learning style differences. With a specific physical, social,

emotional, and academic needs and skills, every student is respected .Student

performance appraisal will give students a range of ways to show their skills.

Global abilities improve learners' comprehension and knowledge of various

individuals and communities (NBCC, 2017).

d. Products and Services. The New Brunswick Community Advanced Placement

(AP) Honors Program is a comprehensive four-year college curriculum. All of the

classes in Language Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Math are either

Honors or Advanced Placement. The program's broad curriculum is aimed to

equip learners by the ability and perceptions required to succeed in and beyond

higher education. Before graduation, students participating in this program would

be expected to complete at least nine (9) AP courses. The curriculum needs a high

degree of positive inspiration, concentration, passion, and commitment. Students

also exit the academy with several hours of high school credit received and a good

college readiness history. A unique stamp is presented to all who fulfill the

system's criteria on their High School certificate. By participating in The New

Brunswick Community College AP Honors Program, Students must strive to

become responsible people. The latter can may compose, objectively think,

express their feelings, and control their time and responsibilities. Such skills will

stick with them even after the AP encounter has terminated (NBCC, 2017). This

style of instruction reflects the State Education System.

III. Organizational Goals. The New Brunswick Community College Provides a

comprehensive, rigorous school program intended to address the academic, cultural and

social needs of people from the varied perspectives of our society, in order to prepare

students for a evolving environment and meaningful lifelong learning. (NBCC, 2017).

IV. Facilities and Equipment. NBCC Despite its architectural architecture and sophisticated

technologies, it is sometimes referred to as a "college of the future." State-of-the-art

infrastructure is accessible throughout the campus to include modern learning

opportunities to match our emerging learners ' needs. It also supports the IT career

academy by offering pathways, including Digital Media, Web Design, and Commercial

Art-Tech (NBCC, 2017).

a. Faculty Members. The New Brunswick Community College, Mr.Kevin

Culberson, Guidance Counselor Specialist, is supported by "six new Guidance

Counselor Specialist and two Central Office Guidance Leaders." (NBCC, 2017)

The office labor force of seven provides a strong basis of academic performance

for parents and students; now, this student is exposed to a one's college course and

presented with a blueprint from grade 9 to grade 12 and a route to graduating

from college (NBCC, 2017). First-year students, Sophomores, Juniors, and

Seniors all receive appropriate guidance from such advisors on each student's

expectations and the affected role the teachers will play throughout the school

year.

b. Duties and Responsibilities. Mr. Kevin Culberson, Providing instructional

statistics on each pupil's success under their guidance, these reports are tracked,

checked, produced, and sent to their direct superior, William g. Zakaria, Assistant

Principal of New Brunswick Community College (NBCC, 2017). His

responsibilities involve having students build academic career aspirations,

recording performance records, and reviewing success results. Also, Mr. Kevin

plans his visits with administrators and instructors to include a parent or guardian

student's development, which guides children about emotional and behavioral

issues NBCC (2017). This further advises that staff introduce programs for all

pupils who undergo summertime remedial courses (NBCC, 2017).

c. New Employee Training/Continuing Employee Training. At NBCC, All new

and ongoing employees are advised to undergo one's development through the

continuous attendance of guidance workshops, conferences. The counselor will

hold a Masters' Degree in Counseling, accredited by the Government. Counselors

are educators who deliver, as recommended by the American School Counseling

Association (ASCA), a school guidance program (NBCC, 2017).

VI. Training Environment. New Brunswick Community College has comprehensive state-

of-the-art technologies at the campus to have modern learning environments and address

the needs of our emerging learners. It also sponsors the IT job academy, providing New

Networking, Web Design, and Creative Art Development paths. The program and

instructional methods include a range of learning experiences to address individual

disparities. With special physical, financial, emotional, and academic needs and skills,

every student is respected.

VII. Linkage Plan Construction and Application of Linkage model. New Brunswick

Community College Advanced Placement ( AP) application-linkage model. Honors

Academy is an academically rigorous program that lasts four years. The program's

rigorous curriculum is intended to provide learners with the ability and perspectives

required for achievement in and outside higher education. Pupils participating in either

program are expected to complete at least nine (9) AP classes prior graduation. The

curriculum needs a high degree of positive inspiration, concentration, passion, and

commitment. Students also exit the academy with several hours of high school credit

received and a good college readiness history. This style of training reflects the

connection between the state model of school teaching and the business.

VIII. Summary. New Brunswick Community College counselors build an atmosphere that

supports the pupil, parent, and educator as a valued service. They have 2,200 students

with a substantial degree of dedication and consistency and present many patients

through the program they offer as counselors and educators. A counselor’s performance

can be calculated by the sum of students graduating and attempting to reach their

standard of accomplishment through earning a college degree. New Brunswick

Community College and the vocational college school sector will endure to flourish in

years to come.

What are the departmental responsibilities?

Mr. Kevin's technical duties as a Guidance Advisor are: "Gather academic statistics on the

success of each pupil under his supervision; evaluate academic growth, control student

performance, and aid in the creation of learning expectations for students. Schedule visits with

administrators and instructors to involve a parent or guardian with each pupil's success and send

updates to their direct superior, Assistant Principal Mr. Tom Hellen. In turn, an offer of support

to adolescents with psychological and behavioral issues reminds the pupil with comprehensive

information on dropout prevention. His colleagues support individual students completing

summer remedial courses.

How do you do every day with the training?

Mr. Kevin stresses the excellent added qualities of high school education as students wonder that

a high diploma is worth their diligent work and sacrifices in their workplace. His position as a

psychologist and instructor have several distinct aspects. He has become accustomed; a specialist

in teaching her peers, they share parallels in their context (NBCC, 2017) ) encounter the

achievement that arises when a parent or guardian gets news that student is a graduate of New

Brunswick Community College. "The Guidance Counselors are Anne Lane, Elena Kirkendal,

Jana Hoffman and Victoria Felix" NBCC (2017) School Office Assistant Training also covers

Melissa Goller and Cheryl Dorety. Our department is committed to delivering the best customer

support facilities within the Duval School's public network.

What were the criteria for you getting your current job?

The qualifications for working as a New Brunswick Community College Guidance Counselor in

the public program of Duval School are: "Master's Degree with a Doctoral Major in Guidance

and Counselling, three semester hours of course work in Values, Ethics, Organization, and

Guidance Management. Should have a Graduate Standard Technical Abilities Check (CLAST)

credential provided by the State (NBCC, 2017).

How many staff do you direct, if any?

"There is actually none I control. Perhaps in the future, once I am named Dean of Students, I

would probably become superior of someone. "(NBCC, 2017)

How many staff are you still interacting with?

Mr. Kevin operates alongside eight administrative board members, four other guidance

counselors, two members of the official school assistant and 27 students. Mr. Kevin serves

exclusively under Mr. Tom Hellen, the Assistant Principal, who is his immediate superior. The

most significant individuals he's dealing with are the students from grade 9 to grade 12.

Does your position compare to theirs?

Like the other guidance counselors, we have a common field of practice, the distinction relates

mainly to the last name of the students. NBCC method for defining which letters of the alphabet

refer to each psychologist is as follows: Letters A-E Ms. Anne Lane, Letters F-J Ms. Elena

Kirkendal, Letters K-O Ms. Jana Hoffman, Letter P-T Ms. LaConya Conner.

Why do you work together to execute activity relevant to training?

"The fact is that we wear the same hat; we work together to address issues that impact each

student's productivity. They help and assist one another, certain days can be difficult, and some

do not appear to have an end.

Which skills, competencies, and attitudes are required for a specific position?

"Wow where else do I get going! Often agile, open minded and accessible, ready to offer advice

or advice. Energetic, fantastic listener, positive personality and strong behavior."

Which expertise, abilities, and behaviors do fellow employees need?

Remain calm and do not lose your temper in the first instance. Only remember it's a challenging

profession. "Don't think we are individual beings ourselves too." (NBCC, 2017).

Which are some of the major obstacles you encounter while performing your job?

Any of the toughest difficulties in this work come when coping with hostile circumstances from

students and guardians, truancy, school battles. Severed tropical storms, and shut down college

adjustment of the academic and social aspirations of each pupil. Prove students the expertise and

abilities they require for their college of choice for entering into any professional institute.

What element are you permitted to alter your training program?

As a guidance advisor, I am allowed to change my student preparation learning program to suit

the needs and fulfill the graduation standards of our public school system. Our experiences as

educators include parents' perspective on the student's progress in achieving the college standard

of preference.

How can you assess the training effectiveness?

By checking when the students perform well on the exam, we realize they have the skills. The

assessments tests are all conceptual and open book so that our students are able to attempt

questions very easily. There is no need to rote learns anything. If they can locate the details, we

know that they fulfill our educational objective. We do have success assessments, and if they can

conduct such performance measures successfully, we realize they are achieving their targets.
