The Department of Education was able to adapt and challenged to meet the needs of the students

in this time of pandemic. The students that will come to be the success of our community and the nation.
The success of our school will always root to the type of government that will support the people or
employee’s visions and goals for the today and the future. For my 6 years in the academe, I was able to
observe and witness the success and failures of science education in our country. From the introduction of
effective references to the use of media to let lessons be easy to take and understand during my
elementary years to the introduction of learner centered curriculum coming K-12. One of the major
successes of science education is the realization and application of science concepts in real life scenario
which is relatable to other branches of science and to other subjects in the curriculum. With this, it created
more research-based products made by students and the ability to adapt skills in technology soon needs
like engineering, robotics, and the medical field. The connection of this to others subjects also posed a
great window for further learnings, which is not a par because the realization of the department of
education to the schools was urgent and well-studied. On contrary on its success, failures arise to the
utilization of science lessons on this time of pandemic especially for the far-flung areas that needs science
lesson to be more localized and simplified. The introduction also of technology posed a great challenge in
the full experience of the new normal of education. Continuous efforts were made by teachers to remedy
these challenges nowadays like the revisiting of science references to identify the most essential topics
and lessons, catering the best practices in science.
The quality of government and other sectors in our country is the great advantage for the great
change in the academe. Hiring of effective and well-skilled teachers are also a plus factor in achieving
what we call the great changes in creating a better and competitive students soon. As my belief and motto
since I started at the Senior High Department of our school quoted “That I must build bridge for my
students not walls that will hinder their careers after high school”. Which means we must be more open to
our students’ equal chances in terms of progress and achievements that will be a tool for them as they will
move forward in life.
Hand-on topics and laboratory activities are my main priority in order that the understanding for
science activities be fully understood and appreciated by the students. One of its sites that I used
whenever we have laboratory on this time of pandemic is the utilization of biointeractive.org that presents
a realia of laboratory experience and learnings. For I can remember way back in college that the
effectivity of a mastered skill is by means of learning by doing practice that will give the student to
discover new ideas and skills in managing a task using their creative and critical thinking skills needed as
life-long skills.
Linkages to other curriculum subjects is always possible and necessary for the students to have a
wholistic approach of learning and understanding, as well as the practice of creativity and critical thinking
skills which will not delimit to only one subject but also to several subjects. That is why it is essential to
have a continues training and upgrading skills of teachers in order that we can deliver important
information and factual/real life assessment for our students. The attitude of having an empty cup as a
teacher must be the quality of an effective employee, that we are open to new ideas and knowledge
needed by our department and our main goal the students of the future.
