1.1.1 Horizontal Control

• AMC motor controller replaces the ACS motor controller.
• The motion force is changed from 40 lbf to 80 lbf to resolve sudden horizontal stop motion.

Note: The AMC motor controller can only support systems with software version 3.6 and above.

1.1.3 Vertical Motor/Brake Assembly (20:1)

ATTENTION: The new vertical motor assembly is NOT interchangeable with the previous Brilliance
motor assembly.

How to Identify the Two Types of Vertical Motor/Brake Assembly

There is a thermal switch on the new type of Motor/Brake assembly. It is connected to the invertor
assembly, and its function is to protect the Motor/Brake assembly from overheating.
In addition, note the ratio listed on the motor label.

1.2 How to Identify the New/Previous Series of

Patient Tables
There are several ways to identify the new patient table:
• From the presence of the new AMC Horizontal controller (see Horizontal Control on page 4)
or
• The patient table’s serial number (see table on on page 9)
or
• From the system configuration
Check the system configuration as follows:
1. Log on as Service.
2. From the desktop, open Service Tools.
3. Go to System Configuration, and click Verify.
4. Under the Configuration Parameter column, find uCT.Couch.Controller.Firmware.
5. Under the Current Value column:
• Value=2650 —AMC Controller (New Patient Table)
• Value=3211 — ACS Controller (Previous Patient Table)
