INTRODUCTION

The topic that we’re going to discuss is all about the traffic impact assessment it is a

study that shows the development of the traffic and how it will affect the surrounding

roadways and their traffic patterns. The traffic Impact Assessment must be submitted or

proposed before the developer makes his/her move to make any changes concerning a

government land use this can be in a form of subdivisions, bridge, and driveway plan. In

preparing a traffic impact assessment report, you must have the job scope of the

submitting person encompasses determining the scope, study area of methodology

collecting existing data and information and traffic survey analysis. The TIA or traffic

impact assessment has a report that includes the description of the existing situation

which you really need to know because this will be your factor how you will execute your

project and see what will be the things that need improvement and you’ll see what you

need to do. You also need a description and analysis of existing traffic conditions

surrounding the study area. Also, traffic modeling of the study, traffic forecasting based

on future growth, trip generation, distribution, and assignment, proposed accessed point

to the development area, traffic impact analysis, conclusion of findings and

recommendation.

SIGNIFICANCE

Traffic impact assessment is very significant because it is the factor that has a

great contribution to the traffic management. The improvement of the roads that the

vehicles are passing through lies on this. The common recommendations that could be

proposed are: Provide providing a fisheye mirror to the blind spot intersection and this

will lessen or avoid the accidents to that area. Providing a roundabout is also one of the

common recommendations because it will lessen the speed of the vehicle that Is

passing through that road this will make the driver or the rider to less his/her speed for

safety and it will avoid the hazards that causes accidents. Roundabout is a circular

road. Example of this is the boundary of manila and Quezon city wherein there is a

center and there is also a round road on it. Another example is the Quezon city circle

and the monumento circle. Widening the road is one of the common proposals for the

sake of every vehicle to upgrade the road area capacity in that case, traffic will be

lessened to that specific area because there is also a lot of space for the vehicle to pass

through. Example of this are roads going from tarlac to Pangasinan.

LEARNINGS

Therefore, I conclude that the traffic impact assessment is very important for our

daily lives as we commute to work, go to school and go to every place that we need to

go. As individuals, we should be aware by traffic assessments on how it is affecting us.

Such as temporary closure of roads due to construction, utilizing transportation like

busses and jeepneys which is the common transportation used by the commuters.

Accidents is always everywhere but we do have ways to prevent it. That is why the

traffic impact assessment is conducted. We must know the value of safe and

responsible driving because it will make us safe every day as we drive to places, we

want to go. Life is only one and our love once can’t afford to lose it. We have a family

waiting for us to go home.
