Complete the following activities:

Task 3.1 Manage project scope control process

Assume that the following has happened when executing the project:
Scenarios
A 25% timeline
The project sponsor communicated the decision to disregard the requirement of onsite car
space for staff to one of the project team members who did not document the decision.
B 50% timeline
The project budget is cut by 5%; the project manager has reviewed the expense items and
decided to change the furniture supplier for a more affordable one compromising on the
quality of the furniture for the new campus.
C 50% timeline
The flu season forces 60% of the project team to go on sick leave for three weeks.
D 75% timeline
One of the permits the project team applied for on behalf of MMI is delayed pending
additional information. This may cause a two weeks schedule delay.

A. For each scenario:

• Detail what scope monitoring and control procedures were applied to identify the issue.
• Outline how the issue is addressed to manage the impact of scope changes within the established
time, cost, and quality constraints according to the scope management plan.
Scenario Monitoring and control How the issue was addressed (40-80
(30-50 words/scenario) words/scenario)
A The scope verification process ensures that
Scope Verification project deliverables are formally accepted.
Here the change request was not documented
because of which the request is not included
into the project and no changes were made to
the project. It is a mechanism through which
all elements specified in the WBS, resources,
quality are in line with the organizational
goals.
B Performance Quality Control The quality control performance process
measures specific project results to determine
whether the project is meeting quality
standards. Here in this case the equality of the

material is compromised and in turn changing
the supplier has resulted in the scope creep.

C Managing the Project Team This process tracks team member

performance, provides feedback, resolves
issues and coordinates changes to maintain
and improve project performance. In this case,
the team-members fell sick which can be
found out from the team performance. As is it
a fu season, be prepared for sick call and low
performance due to illness. Alternative
planning to replace the sick staff and continue
the project.

D Schedule Control The Schedule Control process monitors and

controls changes to the project schedule. The
key benefit of this process is that it provides
the means to recognize deviation from the
plan and take corrective and preventive
actions and thus minimize risk.
The tools used are:
Project performance
Schedule data
Work performance data etc.

Hi Taylor,

I hope you are doing good sir. I am writing this email to bring a small change request to your notice.
After a long analysis and review, I came to a conclusion to change the furniture supplier to a less
expensive and affordable supplier to cut down on the budget. This budget cut dowm will be good for
the project as with the new supplier we are able to save upto 5% of the budget.

The existing furniture is being used by many of the offices and schools because of te price and
reasonable quality. Therefore, I request you to go through the company details and customer
feedbacks to come to a conclusion,

Thank you

D. Lessons learned
Consider the work performed when developing the scope management plan and its implementation
when addressing Task 3.1 A, B and C.
Consider the following feedback received from the project team.
• The change control process was implemented effectively; however, it could be improved by using
an electronic form
• Some scope changes were not timely communicated, increasing the possibility of scope creep
• The scope management plan was updated every six weeks
Complete a lessons learned report (Template 3) to identify and document scope management issues and
recommend improvements for future projects.

the documentation has resulted in the overall change in the project. Therefore, reviewing projevt
regularly keeps the project on track and up to the requirements. Quality control plays a crucial role
to conduct the project in the future and in the present smoothly.

when addressing Task 3.2 A, B and C.
Consider the following feedback received from the project team.
• The Marketing Officer and the Marketing Manager’s lack of project management knowledge
impacted their performance
• The Marketing Officer asked another team to send some of the invitations to the event. The
invitations were never sent.
Complete a lessons learned report (Template 3) to identify and document scope management issues and

Worked well Could have gone better

1. Budget planning 1. No proper monitoring as the

3. Marketing strategy, in this case trying to invitations
invite verseas audiences was a god 2. Lack of skills to predict the

3. Lack of team work and lack of
fllow up with the work

Lessons learned and suggested improvements (40-80 words):

Monitoring wrk is very important t finish the task on time and accrding to the requiremet. Here in
this case, the Marketing officer asked the team to send invitations but he did not follow with the
team because of which no invitatins were sent to some people. Therefre, it is always necessary to
