PERFOMANCE BASED CONTRACT FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF NANYUKI –

LEWA (A2) ROAD

FORMAL INSPECTION REPORT 20/12/2022

ITEM DESCRIPTION
1 Ongoing works on The inspection team made various stops at Km 3, 4
Culverts and drainage and 13 where the contractor had completed culvert
works. works and backfilling of the same was ongoing.
The works were observed to be ongoing and as instructed.
The contractor was urged to ensure that all access
culverts were backfilled before the Christmas break
as to ensure the accesses are opened to their users.

3. PBC Works
The Chair noted that PBC works was ongoing on
litter collection, drainage works at Timau Town
(Km 20 to Km 21) and bush clearing along the
entire road section from Km 0 + 000 to Km 51 as
observe during the inspection.
Repair of damaged road signs and guard rails had
also been done.
The Chair noted that there is continuous littering of
the road by its users and the contractor needs to be
improve on litter collection.

4 Pending Instructed works


The Chair requested for timelines on when the
Contractor will address the pending instructions
on Timau town roads, Reconstruction of the
remaining section at Km 3,culverts works at Km 3
and 13,Pavement regulation at Km 47 to 49.
The contractor informed the meeting that
instructed works on grouting, stone pitching,
gabion works, installation of gabions was
ongoing and the contractor was working on the
other pending instructions as instructed so as to
catch up.
