The role of sports in our life

“Healthy body, healthy mind.” I like to be guided by this quote. A healthy body
leads to a healthy mind. I totally agree. Being healthy doesn’t mean just eating
healthy food or keeping different diets. Is it enough to take into account the advice
of the nutritionists or to eat those unhealthy products more rationally? I don’t think
so. In my opinion this is not enough for me. I can say that sports also play an
important role for our health. We should combine rationally these two important
aspects from our life: sport and healthy food.
Maintaining a level of physical fitness and a balanced diet during our life will
improve to be hugely beneficial to both your physical and mental health. Studies
show that managing to incorporate even a couple of hours of decent exercise into a
week helps increasing not only our self-esteem and overall mood but also improves
our mental alertness and ability to learn and work.
There are a lot of other sports that play a big role as: running, cycling, playing
football, tennis etc. so we can choose to practice sport for fun but also to improve
our lifestyle.
As for me, I’m not a real practitioner of sports. Although I often realize the
importance of sports in my life, I don’t practice them very often. I’m not the person
who begins the morning with running at five, six o’clock or running after a ball. I
like playing badminton, basketball just for fun and enjoyment. Also I like playing
chess, I don’t know if it is a really sport or just a game but I love playing it because
it trains my mind.
So, in conclusion I want to say that I admire very much the people who practice
different kind of sports.
