 Types of AV Aids
There are many types of AV aids

1. Audio aids
2. Visual aids
3. Audio visual aids

Audio aids
Audio aids are the instructional devices through which the message
can only be heard.

Examples:
1. Radio
2. Tape Recorder
3. Headphone

Radio
Radio provides guidance to rural people in solving the problems of rural
development.
Tape recorder
Tape recorder is a machine that is used for playing and
recording sound.

Headphone
Headphone is a pair of earphones joined by a band placed over the
head, for listening to audio signals such as music or speech.

Visual aids
Instructional devices through which message can be seen but not
heard.

Examples:
1. Charts
 2. Maps
3. Chalk board

Charts
Compare ideas or explain main points.

Maps
Show specific places being discussed.

Chalk Board
A chalk board is a dark-colored board that you can write on
with chalk.
Types of visual aids
There are two types of visual aids.

1. Projected aids
2. Non projected aids

Projected aids
Visual instructional devices which are shown with a projector.

Examples:
1. Slides
2. Cartoons

Non projected aids

Non projected visual are those aids which are used without
any projection.

Examples:
1. Blackboard
2. Chart

Audio visual aids

Instructional devices through which message can be heard
as well as seen.

Examples:

1. TV
2. Video
