Analysis
Application
1. The structures that can be found in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells in order for them to be
considered a cell are cell membrane, ribosome, and DNA
2. The distinguishing features of a prokaryotic cell is the absence a nucleus and mitochondria. Prokaryotic
cells are also unicellular
3. The distinguishing features of a eukaryotic cell is the presence of a nucleus and mitochondria.
Eukaryotes can either be unicellular or multicellular. Unlike the Prokaryotic cell, eukaryotic cells can
store the DNA in its nucleus.
Reflect
With the different classifications of cells, there will also be different uses for them like how prokaryotic
cells are used to make pesticides or even antibiotics. In order to sustain life, both eukaryotic and
prokaryotic cells are necessary since some organisms cannot live without them and if all cells were the
same, some organisms would not even exist.

Application
1. The cells are what differentiates animals from plants. There are some parts that are present in one cell
but absent in the other. There is a need for these cells to be different because the organelles that can be
found in each cell is important to its organism. Like how the chloroplast is important for only plants in
their photosynthesis but not humans since we don’t photosynthesize.
2. one example of a cell organelle that can only found in a plant cell is the cell wall. The cell wall
provides strength to the plant to support its growth. It also defends the plant when it encounters
pathogens.
3. The reason why both plant and animal cells need to be eukaryotic is because of the presence of the
nucleus and mitochondria. The nucleus is needed to control and regulate the cell, and the mitochondria is
need to power the cell’s biochemical reactions.
Reflect
One example of a plant cell organelle that cannot be found in an animal cell is the chloroplast. The
chloroplast converts light energy into a stable chemical energy through photosynthesis. The animal cell
on the other hand has centrioles. The centrioles help in organizing microtubules that serves as the animal
cells’ skeletal system. These two types of cells are important for life to exist because these cells carry out
all the functions necessary for a plant or an animal to function effectively and properly. These cells are
also the reason why plants and animals continue to exist and live.
