What is your research study all about?

Our research is about the effectiveness of implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay in Barangay

Triangulo, Naga City. This will examine the existing data of cases filed, the level of implementation
and assess the policy improvements needed.

Why did you choose this study?

This study is chosen since we are residents of Naga City and we identified the gap between the
existing researches and our barangay. Since we have resources of the data of Barangay Triangulo, we
are able to conduct further study by comparing it with the results of our survey.

Why did you choose this particular title for your dissertation?

There has been several researches similar to our topic and it specifies the assessment of a particular
area in terms of Katarungang Pambarangay implementation, only that their subject is a different
location.

What is the scope of your research?

Our research focuses on Barangay Triangulo, Naga City. The respondents of this study are the
following: (1) Barangay Officials; (2) Lupon Tagapamayapa members; (3) at least thirty
five residents of the barangay who have had cases filed in the barangay and had
experienced being mediated or conciliated;

Barangay records will also help this study by consolidating the cases filed between 2020
and 2021.

Who will be most interested in your research?

Residents of Barangay Triangulo. This study will enable the resident of barangay
triangulo to properly resolve their certain cases filed in Katarungang Pambarangay that
prevents them from the escalation to the litigation in courts, they will be having a
document basis on how to improve things need improvements in the disputes of these
cases.

Lupong Tagapamayapa/Lupon. This study will help Lupong Tagapamaya in

empowering them in every barangay to properly execute all proceedings and
implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay Law

Barangays/Barangay’s Official. This study will help to increase the awareness and
understanding of katarungang pambarangay law and its value as an empowering and
alternative tool for the resolution of community and family disputes at the barangay
level.

City. This study will benefit cities in the Philippines to formulate programs and
intervention that will help barangays to implement better the Katarungang
Pambarangay Law and better disputes in barangay level.

Department of Interior and Local Government DILG. This study will enable to
know the steps in order to fix any circumstances inside the barangay. It will attribute to
have a certain leader to rule the barangay this will help the Lupong Tagapamayapa
which plays a big attribute to execute judicial power as a part of barangay justice
system.

Courts. This study will help unclog the court dockets, Katarungang Pambarangay law is
one of such alternative modes of disputes resolution which is prompt and inexpensive.

Students. This study will enable he students to be knowledgeable on how the

Katarungang Pambarangay as an Alternative Dispute Resolution works and
implemented by the Barangay Government of Triangulo in order to reduce the number
of cases filed in regular courts. As proactive leaders, we shall also identify the loopholes
of this program in order to raise suggestions to our local government officials for a
more purposeful and efficient management of cases in the barangay.

Other Researchers. This study will help our future researchers in terms of providing
them adequate data for a better understanding of the implementation of Katarungang
Pambarangay Law in one of the biggest barangays in Naga City in terms of population -
the Barangay Triangulo. This will also enable them to assess the said program as
implemented in our barangay compared to them and vice-versa.

In general, this study will answer the question on how effective as an alternative
dispute resolution is the Katarungang Pambarangay Law of Triangulo given the above-
mentioned recognition that it has received from the Local Government Unit of Naga.

What gaps did you intend to bridge with your research?

this study focuses on Barangay Triangulo, Naga City, which fills a gap present in the
existing researches in the study. This aids the Lupon and residents of the specific area
to voice out their concerns regarding the challenges and the levels of implementation of
Katarungang Pambarangay. Through this, this study will further contribute to filing of
used cases and the treatment of each Barangay per area and recommend
enhancements moving forward.
