Explain number one etymology

The word "one" comes from Old English "ān", which is of Germanic origin. It is related to similar words in
other Germanic languages such as German "eins" and Dutch "een". The origin of the Proto-Germanic word is
uncertain, but it is thought to be related to the Proto-Indo-European root "ōynos", which also gave rise to
words for "one" in other Indo-European languages such as Latin "unus" and Greek "hen".
