In the modern world, people are subjected to increasing time pressure and pace of life.

We live under
the weight of rising demands, which can be debilitating. There is mounting evidence that continuously
high levels of stress may contribute to the mental and physical disorders. Both texts concentrate on
relaxation techniques to ease stress.

The writer of the first extract highlights the positive health benefits of drinking a cup tea. By calming the
stimuli in the brain, white and green teas help to unwind while increasing focus. In my view, the
advantages of this method lies in its simplicity and its accessibility to a wide range of people due to its
low cost. The main drawback to this way of de-stressing is that it helps to relief stress only for a short
period of time.

However, the second text focuses on yoga as a remedy for long-term effects of stress. The author holds
an opinion that less physically demanding poses and maintaining a regular practice are the best keys to
successfully handling our stress. It is crucial to choose the right form of yoga to suit your body and boost
your health and wellbeing. In my opinion, yoga, similarly to other physical exercises, effectively reduces
levels of the body's stress hormones. It also stimulates the production of endorphins which are our
natural painkillers and mood elevators. However, there are some downsides of yoga. It requires some
time, physical fitness and it is quite expensive, so not everybody can practice yoga.

In conclusion, I think that both above-mentioned calming methods can be effective. It is a matter of age,
needs and circumstances which technique would be more suitable for the particular group of people.
Young mother, the old or less-fit people would prefer only a cup of tea, whereas more active individuals
would try yoga as well.
