prepositions - a word governing, and usually preceding, a noun or pronoun and

expressing a relation to another word or element in the clause

conjuctions - a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in


the same clause (e.g. and, but, if ).

lesson 1-
eleminating prepositional phrases - the subject will never be in a prepositional
phrase. the questions are to be answered by learning about the subject and the verb

lesson 2-
eliminating interrupters - interrupters are the sentences having extra info which
often mislead the leaders , they are placed after n before a comma , eliminating
these sentences makes it easier to find the subject

lesson 3-
compound subjects - when there are more than 1 subject for a single verb then it is
known as a compound subject . they may be singular , plural or mixed.

lesson 4-
tricky singulars - the words that sound plural in nature but are actually singular
are known as tricky singulars.
ex -
neither,either,everyone,everybody,someone,somebody,anybody,anything,each,anyone,no
one,everything,little and much

lesson 5-
tricky plurals - the words that sound singular in nature but are actually plural
are known as tricky plurals.
ex - data,phenomena,media,criteria

singular/plural-
data - datum
phenomena - phenomenon
media - medium
criteria - criterion

lesson 6-
paired conjunctions - Paired conjunctions are pairs of conjunctions that connect
words or phrases that are the same part of speech or serve the same function within
a sentence.

lesson 7-
inverted sentences - in these sentences the verb comes before the subject.
ex - there is a cat in the house ('is' is the verb , and 'cat' is the subject)

lesson 8-
collective nouns - A collective noun is a noun that represents a collection of
individuals, usually people
ex - team,family,crew,army,etc

lesson 9-
gerunds - words ending with 'ing' are known as gerunds and are treated as singular
words
ex - dancing,eating,playing,etc
lesson 10-
That , What , Where are treated as singular words.
