Facts about Rent costs and leases in the USA for our
Summer/Spring/Winter Work Travel participants:
Most houses and/or apartments prefer a 12-month
lease, and the rent is lower for people who take a 12-
month lease. However, you will be entering a 3-4
month lease, and USA housing increases its rental
costs once the lease terms drop below 12-months.
The shorter the lease, the higher the rent. This is
often why our participants may be paying more in rent
than their USA neighbors. However, our participants
generally do not have to rent their furniture, pay
utilities, pay for cable or Internet set-up or pay for
homeowner association fees. Sometimes there are
utility overage charges but all costs are fully disclosed
in this Guide. Other costs included are furniture
rental, utilities, Wi-Fi, insurance, cleaning, move in
and move out costs.
