Days before the beginning of our Teaching Internship we are gathered for a meeting
at Holy Cross College to inform us our assigned section, and grade level and to introduce us
with our Cooperating Teacher, Ma’am Carmela Lajum. Same day of our orientation we are
also told with the things that we need to prepare for the first week of our in-campus
deployment Detailed Lesson Plans, Power Point Presentations and even uniforms.

It was the rainy 3rd day of January 2023, the beginning of our teaching-internship I
woke up early I was excited and at the same time nervous All of the interns were gathered for
a short orientation together with the Teacher Education Program Chair Ma’am Donna, me
and my co-interns took a lot of pictures and upload it in our social media accounts. The next
day I have finally met my students the Grade 8 – St. Agatha. As I’ve entered their room all of
the nervousness that I felt that time vanished I led the payer, greet them “good morning”,
introduced myself to them and then proceed to the discussion with our topic, the Structures of
Entertainment Speech. I also remembered few names, those students who actively participate
in our discussion namely Rechelle, Brix, Dan and Franz, and those students who actively
talked with their seatmates Emerald and Mark. And then tomorrow came it was the first day
of College Intramurals it all starts with the lightning of torch, chosen students from different
college departments participate in 2023 Power Dance Competition, and also the competition
between the beautiful and elegant representatives of each courses happened that morning.
Later that afternoon, there are outdoor games that should be played, but since it was raining it
was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day.

January 06, 2023 supposedly it was the 2nd day of our intramurals Santa Rosa LGU
announced that the class for all levels was suspended due to the non-stop rain, both public
and private. I stayed home that time doing all the DLP’s and PPT’s for the next week and
that’s what happened in the first week of my teaching duties in Holy Cross College.

It is the second week of my internship, on Monday morning it was the continuation of

the College Intramurals students from different department compete for the championship.
Different sports like basketball, volleyball and tennis were played the Pride Council also
prepared foods and drinks for the student players. And me I am at the 4 th floor as usual and
doing some presentations and learning plans for the next week since I cannot do it on
weekends. During lunch me and my friends ate together, we have shared foods and listen to
each other’s funny stories, after eating I have continue what I am doing that day. The next
day I am at the designated room for the interns I was helping my classmates in making their
Power Point presentations, since it is Tuesday and it is my vacant day and also Thursday.
After helping them I studied my lessons for that week which is all about the Classes of
Pronouns.

January 11, 2023, this was the second time that I met St. Agatha at it was like I am
teaching them before because they cooperate with me very well. That day we have discussed
the Classes of Pronouns we begins our day with a short prayer, a review of past lesson and
the discussion, they answered my questions, some of them were trying even if they didn’t
know if it is correct and I am happy I felt respected you will never feel negativity, they won’t
let you feel that. I was in our designated room checking my students activity I even acted as
a student of one of my co-interns since she was practicing the flow of her discussion. Hours
passed and it is time for us to go home. Friday I was just in our room watching my classmates
doing their stuffs, and then hours passed afternoon came I brought my things and attended the
seminar for all the Practice Teachers in that we are informed with the things that we need to
prepared for the off-campus deployment, the requirements, the do’s and do not’s, the pinning
ceremony, and everything including this weekly journals, and also Ma’am Arlene Garcia was
introduced to us. And that is what happened in the second week of my teaching internship.

This is my third week of being a practice teacher I woke up early since I have a two
period class that day and Ma’am Norielyn is absent due to her health concerns. I took over
her class St. Maria Goretti it was my first time meeting them they are all polite and
cooperative also. As we begin our day we prayed and have a short preview of our past lessons
and then we have discussed the Appropriate Grammatical Signals for Each Pattern of Idea
Development same with the St. Agatha we discussed and then proceed to the activity.

It’s Tuesday and we are tasked to collect the notebooks our students because it is the
scheduled of their quarterly notebook checking by the Assistant Principal of the Basic
Education Department Sir Francis Cabrera. We have pasted Certified Complete Sticker on
their notes just to guarantee Sir Francis that the students are complete with their lectures and
activities. The next Ma’am Norielyn is already in our school waiting for me to arrive. Since
she will ask me the things that I have discussed on St. Maria Goretti then I told her she just
need to let them continue their unfinished activity. Same with the St. Agatha I asked them to
finish their activities since I will record it for their grades for the second quarter.

January 19, 2023, I woke up early and prepared for the day I packed my lunch, iron
my uniform, bun my hair and put light make up just to make myself look lively. Arriving in
the school first thing that I did is to time in and then proceed to the checking of thirty-one
books with nine activities each. Then lunch came as usual we ate together with my friends
and then after than I continued checking the books and then record their scores, hours passed
and it’s time to go home I together with my friends bid each other our goodbyes.

And that is how my third week of internship done tiring but fulfilling.

This is the 5th week of my teaching internship here in Holy Cross College and
everyone is busy doing their own businesses.

It’s Monday and I have prepared my things I cooked my food, washed my body, and
then put a light make-up to make myself presentable. It’s almost 7 a.m., when I arrived in
school because of a heavy traffic in Sta. Rosa Bridge I think it is the main problem of every
workers and students. It is the first day of quarterly examination for Junior High School and I
think my students are already prepared for their first subject. I was one their proctors and I
have witnessed how good and prepared my students for their exam.

It is the second day of the examination for Junior High School and English is their
first subject I was the one who checked their examination papers I am happy because I know
that they really learned from the lessons that I have discussed. The next day we do not have
classes for the students to complete their activities and projects everyone is busy doing their
incompletes because the deliberation of grades is near for the students.

It’s Thursday, and we do not have class today we have stayed in our room doing our
DLP’s and PPT’s this week I have encountered things that I was not experience before but
what I did is too do it in my way what I know is right and is not harmful for the students the
things that I know will make them a good person.

I have realized that being effective teacher will make you happy the feeling is very
fulfilling seeing your students passed their examinations because you know that you did your
best in teaching them is in another level of happiness. And this is what happened in my 5th
week of internship tiring but satisfying.

This is my 4th week of internship and I think this is the saddest week of my stay here
in Holy Cross College we have lost a teacher, a friend, a colleague and everyone is mourning
for him.

It’s Monday same routine I woke up, cooked my food, washed my body and iron my
clothes and then I’m good to go I arrived at school early since I left our home early too. This
is the first day of my students performing their performance task which is delivering an
Entertainment Speech everyone is good in delivering their speeches. I want to congratulate
my St. Agatha in doing their best actually I did not find it hard to give them high score since
they are all great. The next day we have stayed in our designated room checking the student
notebooks and book for their activities I have recorded their scores for their activities and
luckily almost are complete.

It’s Wednesday 25th of January, this is the second day of them performing their
performance task the continuation of them delivering their speeches and most of the students
who excel in their class will perform that that day and wow! They really prepared for this
they memorized it and some brought their props. One of my students delivered her speech
very well since their topic is all about motivating people who experienced depression they
will act as a Psychologist and from that she told us that she experienced depression and now I
know why she delivered it very well.

From their performance task I have witnessed how my students act if they become a
Psychologist on how are they going to handle their patients and from that I know that they
will be a great listener and advisor in the future also I realized that everyone is facing their
own battles that we need to be careful for the things that we say to others. And that is what
happened in my 4th week of internship it was an eye opening for everyone.
