It modifies verbs, adjectives and other

Very good! It also tells when, where, how,


in what manner or to what extent the action
is performed.

Examples:
 When: She danced yesterday.
 Where: She danced here
 How: She danced gracefully
 In what manner: She danced
barefoot
 To what extent: She danced the
longest.

Now, let us define what is Affirmation and


Negation?

Affirmation – the act or process of


affirming something.

Negation – the act of denial


- “Deny, Say No”

Adverbs of Affirmation
- It is an adverb which is used
in a sentence to affirm it as
true
- Statement is true or
positive.

EXAMPLES:
1. He is certainly right.
2. I am surely going to the party.

Adverbs of Negation
- when we want to say that

not the case, we can use
negative words, phrases, or
clauses.
