THE RESULT OF ON THE JOB TRAINING AT “PT RESTU MAHKOTA KARYA “SUZUKI
KARAWANG”

A. Introduction

In accordance with Permendikbud No. 60 of 2014 Lamp. 1a III B. I-I concerning Field Work
Practices and Permendikbud No. 60 of 2014 Lamp. III C.7 concerning the Demands of the World
of Work. Vocational High School (SMK) is an educational institution that has the task of
preparing and equipping knowledge, skills and attitudes in accordance with the competency
standards of secondary level graduates to their students as a provision when entering the
industrial world.

In the SMK Curriculum, the Dual System Education Program is replaced with Industrial Work
Practice (PRAKERIN), this program is implemented as one of the requirements for taking the
Competency Exam, School Final Examination and National Final Examination in class XII of the
2019/2020 Academic Year as well as efforts to take part in the Prakerin Session.

This effort was taken to improve the quality, and competence of students of SMK Al Jabbar
Ciledug, Cirebon Regency in the context of the demands and development of the Business
World / Industrial World which is increasingly advanced and strict. Likewise, providing an
overview and experience to students in the real world of work before that student graduates.

B. Procedure

The method that the writers used while doing on the job training are following:

Observation

The writer prepare the observation paper to know the employees’ attitude when the action done,
then the writer and the collaborator discuss about the result of the observation, what the
problem face in the workshop.

Interview

Beside conducted observation, the writers also conducted interview when doing working on the
job training.

C. Findings
My team has been carried out in workshop"PT RESTU MAHKOTA KARYA (SUZUKI) Jl. Jend A.
Yani No. 36, Karangpawitan Kec. Karawang Barat, Kab. Karawang West Java.

Restu Mahkota Karya is the main dealear of "SUZUKI" in jabotabek and Banten areas. RMK has
held a trademark (SUZUKI) since 1985 with a location in Bogor.

In 1988 Restu Mahkita Karya branch opened in Karawang, Tangerang and Depok. For the
Karawang and Tangerang areas, RMK was appointed as the main dealear of SUZUKI 4.Jakarta
branch in Sawah Besar real location to Jl.Hasyim Ashari No.11 ABC which is also the regional
headquarters of Jakarta.

Along with the development of the times, to attract consumers, the products offered are also
various types, types, colors, and prices that vary according to consumer needs. The products
currently offered include the following: Grand Vitara, APV, SWIFT, Karimun Estilo, SX4, Realvan,
Baleno and Pick Up.

First week : adaptation to the work environtment, familiarize youself with the tools and
understandin their use

Second week : help mechanics and learn to understand what mechanics teach

Third week : learn to disassemble the engine and tune up the vehicle tourself

Last week : learn about the transmission and explore the work like a mechanic

D. Conclusion

In the preparation of this report, the author took the title "Replacing spark plugs on ertiga cars".
Because based on the observations and activities of the author when in the workshop in
general"doing spark plug changes". That is very important, in addition to making it easier to
make engine livelihoods and also to facilitate work.

E. Recommendation

My recommendation for DU/DI, I hope, the company can increase cohesiveness and
cooperation between employees / mechanics. Then, more awareness in occupational safety.
Next, for the sake of smooth future fieldwork practices, hope that the relationship between the
school and the company (industry) will continue to be well established. Last, we hope that in the
future when the mechanic gives instructions to be clearer and more detailed so that the
instructions can be carried out properly.
