I. Description
This activity aims to test students’ skill in writing a scpholarly essay of an academic topic/issue pertinent to their
field.

II. Mechanics
1. Students will be divided into groups. Each group will consist of four (4) to five (5) members.
2. Each group must think of a topic in their field that they would like to write about. The topic should be interesting
and relevant. If a topic has already been chosen by one group, it must not be taken up by another group. Each
group should have a different topic to discuss and write. The course instructor will check each group’s topic to
ensure no redundancy of topic.
3. The student-writers will have the liberty to come up with a title for their essay.
4. The essay should consist of not less than 1,500 words, and not more than 1,600 words.
5. The essay should abide by the following prescribed format:
Font Style: Times New Roman Spacing: Double-Spaced
Font Size: 12 Paper Size: Letter
6. Before submission, student-writers must subject their essay to an online plagiarism scanner to be prescribed by
their course instructor to ensure originality of work.
7. Upon submission, the student-writers must attach the references used for the essay, and a screenshot of the
plagiarism report.
