4.1 Assize (6 roll), standard mass meters (4 roll) and single idler mass meters as per the
general specification for continuous measurement of the Platinum ore quantities on
conveyors must be provided.

4.2 The highest possible economic accuracy, with an acceptable repeatability, must be
offered by Suppliers as these instruments will be used for control of the plant
performance/settings.

4.3 Supplier’s to submit a graph indicating the guaranteed accuracies for all mass meters
between minimum and maximum capacities.

4.4 Assized mass meters must be used for payment conditions and must be calibrated by
the Supplier to the required accuracies and issued with an assizing certificate by the
respective Authorities arranged and supplied by the Supplier after commissioning and
handover to the client.

4.5 Mass meters must be provided with the following as a minimum specification:

4.5.1 Supports for mounting the underground mass meters on the conveyor stringers.
4.5.2 Supports for mounting the speed detector on the underground conveyor stringers.
4.5.3 The integrator panel will be mounted by DRA Mineral Projects in a suitable location
complete with a suitable 316 stainless steel drip cover within 15 metres from the
associated mass meter.
4.5.4 Cabling between the mass meters and their associated auxiliaries, speed transmitter and
control panel to be provided by the mass meter supplier and installed by the DRA
appointed E&I Installation contractor.
4.5.5 The integrator must include a feed rate indicator, resettable totalizer (6 digits) and
cumulative totalizer (9 digits).
4.5.6 Belt Scale Power Supply will be 110 Vac.
4.5.7 All electrical and junction boxes must be rated IP 65.
4.5.8 All mechanical and balanced idler rolls and frames for idlers on the mass meters, before
and after the mass meters, as required by the supplier, to be supplied by the supplier.
This must be indicated separately on the relevant price schedules.
4.5.9 All steelwork and idler frames must be galvanised.
4.5.10 All calibration masses, including calibrated and assized masses for the mass meters,
must be provided by the Supplier.
4.5.11 One set of assized masses to be offered by Suppliers for all the assizing mass meters.
4.5.12 All assized mass meters to be sealed to the requirements of the relevant Authorities in
the presence of the Project Engineer. All costs related to assizing of mass meters and
the relevant Authorities to be for the account of the Supplier.
