C. Lesson Proper
1. Introduction to the Topic

“Now let’s proceed to the our lesson for today.

We are going to discuss about the excerpt
Inferno by Dante Alighieri. But first let us know
who is Dante Alighieri.”

Dante Alighieri is an Italian poet, prose writer,

literary theorist, moral philosopher, and political
thinker.
“According to the book, what was his best “Divine comedy:Inferno, ma’am.”
known work?

“Very good, remember that that is his best

known work. Before we discuss his best known
work, who among you knows what is Inferno?
(Students who knows the answer will
will be called.)
Inferno resembles hell or purgatory.
“Why do you think that Dante Alighieri named
his work The Divine Comedy if it talks about
hell?” (Students who knows the answer will
will be called.)

According to the Ancient Greeks, comedy is the

opposite trajectory to that of tragedy. When we
say tragedy, the character is defeated at the end
or most tragedies end in deaths. Now when we
say comedy, it is the opposite of it. It ends in that
person’s triumph or the character at the end is
victorious.”
“Did you understand it?” “Yes, ma’am.”
“In his work, we have this term Canto which
means a section of long poems. Divine Comedy
has three parts, Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso.
Inferno has 34 cantos, then the last two have 33
cantos each so there’s a total of 100 cantos in
Divine Comedy. Canto III was already provided
there in your textbook. In Canto III, Dante sets
up the intellectual structure of hell. In the
entrance, it was placed there the people who
refused to choose either good or evil. The
opportunist, the uncommited, the people who
refused to make a choice.”

“Any clarifications?” “None, ma’am.”

D. Application
“Now for your task, we will have a game. The instruction
is you are going to pass this pen of mine while I play the
song INFERNO by Bella Poarch and when the music
stops, whoever has the pen should answer my question.

“Is it clear?” “Yes, ma’am.”

(Starts with the game.)
