Introduction

As the whole society progresses into the better tomorrow, we create different
renditions of what makes up the most efficient use of our own cultures and traditions.
Every individual partakes their own duties and responsibilities that build up societal
development and participation. People have been endlessly trying to cope up with the
conflicts that are brought upon them. And fortunately, most of which get to smile at the
end of the day. Even though some cry at the expense of others, all of us reign with our
own achievements in compensation with the challenges ahead of us.
But under all of these successes that we carry, there are different conflicts that are
truly detrimental to the welfare of the citizens. Such problems are because of the
government – those who choose to lead our people with such power. I personally feel like
the government should live outside individualism, but in most cases, it interferes with the
lives of many, which in then trumps over the safety of others.
Within the town of Sto. Domingo, we can witness such problems in a societal scale.
Politics within our area have been in proper regulation and that there are no clear
distinctions on whether it’s failing or not. Although, in this time of a pandemic, it has
shaken the capabilities of the people in power. And in this time, the only thing we can do
about the issue is to rely on what the officials tells us to do.
In recent events, our dear town mayor, Mayor Butch Tadena, has passed away
due to cancer of the lungs; the reason being is that he had an addiction to cigarettes as
he weakened his respiratory system. And as unfortunate as it may be, we have lost a
leader in times we needed him the most. Because of this, his responsibilities were taken
over by his son, Bryan Tadena, the vice mayor of Sto. Domingo.
As it may seem, things have gone into control. But with all things considered, our
municipality doesn’t even have the grasp on their leaders. In recent events, there have
been position issues about those who sit in office. It is said that the counselor, Mr. Ryan
has been aggressively taking responsibility being the new mayor. Without all due respect,
he sees himself as the dominant public official, which is truly incorrect. There came a time
when the newly elected mayor opted to make a speech in front of an audience and that
the counselor neglected to offer him the microphone, giving discomfort to the mayor.
These small things that conflict our leaders into taking power into their own hands have
been greatly affecting our town in terms of leadership. Every single one of us should
establish who the actual leader is so we can follow one voice and one voice only.
