Objectives: by the end of the lesson,
students will be able to...
differentiate the past simple and present perfect tense uses by
doing gap fill exercises in which they’ll have to choose between
the past simple and present perfect tense.
use the present perfect tense to share information about their
lives
receive information about what other people have done in their
lives (such as where they have lived, been to, etc) and
comprehend it. Students will do an exercise in which they'll need
to interact and tell each other what they have been doing.
Recalling the verbs in its past participle form

Differentiating between the use of the present perfect and


past simple tenses
This is the way we will assess our students

- During the evaluation stage, the teacher will be able to


see how each student has
understood the topic. This way, the teacher will know
what to reinforce. It may be
sentence structure, past participle verbs, or
pronunciation.

- All stages: We will ask students for active participation


in class given the instructions to do
each activity.

- In the application stage, the teacher will be able to


listen to how fluent or accurate each
student is when pronouncing the past participle verbs
and forming complete sentences.

The teacher will write two sentences about what he/she did the day before or
last month.
Students will also write 5 sentences about things they did the day
before or last month, but in their notebooks.

Then, they'll pick two, read them out loud, and say if the
verbs they used are regular or irregular.

APPLICATION

We'll put students in pairs. They will pretend they're good


old friends that haven't seen each other in 2 years, but that
they've just run into each other at a café. Each student will
tell the other what he/she has done in these 2 years.
