➢ graph.
EXPLORE
Let’s Recall!
Observe the triangles below:
QUESTIONS TO PONDER:
If these triangles are mountains, arrange them from flattest to steepest.
What does steepness mean?
What are terms associated to steepness?

Key Concepts
Slope
Slope (𝑚) is the 'steepness' of a line. It is also commonly known as rise over run.
Slope of a Line
The slope of a line is given by
𝑟𝑢𝑛
If the coordinates of two points on a line are (𝑋1, 𝑌1) and (𝑋2, 𝑌2), the slope can be determined by
𝑦2 − 𝑦1
𝑥2 − 𝑥1
