    The vessel berthed in New Westminster, Canada on May 26th at 10:00. During an inspection, the longshore stevedores found that while the cargo cranes' blocks and swivels were free, the trunnions (rocker blocks) were jammed. The gangs were cancelled for the day so that the trunnions could be inspected and freed before work started again the next morning. A workshop was contracted to dismantle the cargo block bodies, which was expected to take 4 hours per block, in order to free the trunnions at a cost of $2000 per hook. Hot work would begin once an approved permit was obtained from the Harbour Master.

    GCSHIP/RTN 365

    Pls note vsl berthed at New Westminster, Canada on 26th May 08/1000 lt. Longshore
    Stevedore boarded to inspected Cargo gear and they are found all cranes cargo block swivel
    free but trunnion (rocker block) not moving/jammed.

    They want to free all cranes cargo block trunnion before start works. Gangs cancelled for
    today and will start working tomorrow morning 0800 hrs after inspection the trunnion free. We
    have contacted workshop from Marine Technical Industries Ltd which advice by agent. Cost
    USD 2000 per hook. Contractors said that they will dismantle cargo block body that will take
    about 4 hrs/block. They will work with 2 gangs and try to finish tonight. Hot work will start after
    submit hot work permit from Harbour Master.will revert.
