a sentence for each picture using the given clues/information.
you have 2 minutes to analyze the 1 first picture.

(Present the 1 picture)- Do you have your answer in picture 1? Anyhand?

(Present the 2nd picture) -Next, have you written your sentence? Another one?

…………
So now, what have you observed from our activity?
(yes Irish?) Very good! That’s a great observation Irish.
………
Going back to our Essential Question (next slide) (yes Janel?) Indeed, thank you Janel.
………..
okay, In today's discussion we will tackle about the past tense and past perfect tenses.
(Past tense meaning present)-
So, what is your understanding about past tense class? (yes Irish?) very good thank you.
(present regular verbs) please read Realyn

Who can give me an example of regular verbs? (yes Janel)

another one example, (yes Realyn?) VERRY good!
………
(present irregular verbs) continue to slide
For other irregular verbs, including the verb to be, the simple past forms are more erratic:
everybody stand up, and please read the examples here
…………..
Next, PAST PERFECT TENSES, so, what is past perfect tense?
(yes Janel please stand up)- exactly thank you Janel

Another one, who wants to share their idea about past perfect tense?
(yes Irish)- Thank you for your brilliant idea Irish.

Yes, Realyn give me an example of past perfect tense?

-(Thats right thank you Realyn.)

(Next slide USE)

Now, you will learn when, where and how to use past perfect tense of a verb in a sentence.
Let us have an example: (next slide example)
-Can you tell what the first past action is? (yes Irish?)
-What made you say that it was the first past action?
(Correct! The time expressions help us determine the first and the second action in a sentence
but still the sentence is confusing. It might also imply that they already entered the theater and
then the show started. ENTERED became the first action which is incorrect because the
sentence is trying to tell us that the show had started before the 2nd action took place.)
What are we going to do with the verb STARTED to show that it is the first action?
-Very good! We use Past Perfect Tense to emphasize the earlier of the two past actions.
How do we form the Past Perfect Tense of the verb?
- Good! To form Past Perfect Tense, we use the ordinary form had + Past participle of the main
verb for the first action.

And for the second action what tense of the verb should we use?
-Right! So, how are we going to correct this sentence? (next slide after answer)
Very good! you are all listening.
.........
So, going back to our essential question. (next slide) yes Janel ?
Exactly, thank you Janel.
........
Do you have any clarifications, questions and further elaboration for our topic for today?
If none, let's move on to our next activity.
………..
