Orientation of Newly Hired Public Teacher of San Juan National
High School

Brief History of San Juan National High School


Bea:
Public secondary education was unknown before in our
town before 1975 until San Juan National High School
founding principal of Bacsil Elementary School Mr.
Antonio G. Vera.
Explanation
He was then the newly-promoted principal of Bacsil
Community School (BCS). He was serving as a head
teacher of Camindoroan Elementary School when his
promotion to Principal I came on February 24, 1975
replacing Mr. Nicasio de Vera. .As principal of BCS, he
observed that many BCS students had stopped schooling
because there was no government high school in San
Juan where they could continue their secondary education
. This gave him the idea of putting up a barangay high
school in the area so as to help these “aging” elementary
graduates find time to finish their secondary education.

On March 13, 1975 Bacsil Barangay High School was


born SY. 1975-1976. Starting with a proposed budget of
6,610 pesos with 2 first year sections, 98 students and 2
full time teachers while their salary is 200 pesos monthly.

March 1979 Bacsil Barangay High School celebrated its


first commencement exercise for its batch of graduates a
total of 70. March 13, 1984 the school were turned
formally to the national government so its became Bacsil
National High School.

Thus January 16, 2007 the school name was rename into
SAN JUAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL was officially born
and Dr. Giovanni V. Velasco was the principal.

Explanation
They Renamed it San Juan National High School because
it has the most students of any san juan secondary
school.
San juan national high school faculty staff are 102, and
the students are 2,387

Initiated Discipline of Students including classroom rule
and group tasks.
Increase the achievement level of the students.
Maintain conductive classroom for maximum learning.
Initiates/participates in activities such as co-
curricular/school activites

Teacher’ s duties and responsibilities

1. Prepares effective daily lesson plan, visual aids and


other devices for instruction
2. Implement and teaches the students the Basic
Education Curriculum
3. Provides varied learning experiences for the
development of skills
4. Cheks/records the attendance of Students, and inform
students progress to parents.
5. Prepares and submit necessary forms and reports, for
her advisory section and keeps the records of his/her
students performance.
6. Conducts the guidance sevice of his/her advisory
section
7. Does related works

OBLIGATIONS OF TEACHERS
Bea:
Sincerity in teaching
-it is obligatory on the part of the teacher to teach
effectively and to the fullest in the best possible way in
required time with the help of available resources.

Motivating the students


-teacher should motivate the student not only to study
subject but also for life. the teacher should encourage
students in all the possible ways

Providing emotional stability


-In such situations teacher has to comfort the students in
the best possible manner.

Help the students in taking decisions:


-Teachers educate and inspire students for better life,
development and progress.

Development of Leadership Qualities


-Teachers provide such opportunity to the students
by making them participate in stage activities,
morning assembly. Teacher also demonstrates
leadership qualities by exhibiting it himself

Salary’s of Teachers
Hazel: As a newly hired grade 11 senior high teacher your
monthly salary is 25,000 but it will increased in next year
so it becomes 27,000, If you want to be promoted you
need to learn a masters degree holder your salary is
45,000, 48,000, or 55,000.Then after which you also have
to your doctors degree in education for a much higher
salary 62,000 and higher position. You should also give
your best and loves your work.

Lastly your retirement payment if you retired at above of


age 57 years old you will get the 80% of the average
monthly salary during the last three years immediately
preceding retirement. If below aged 57 you get 75% of
average monthly salary.
