1. What is Microsoft Excel?

- Microsoft creates and distributes MS Excel, a commercial spreadsheet program, for the
Microsoft Windows and Mac OS operating systems. Among other helpful capabilities, it
has the capacity to carry out simple calculations and utilize graphing tools, build pivot
tables, and develop macros. Data organization and manipulation are done using rows and
columns of cells in spreadsheet programs like MS Excel. They can also use line graphs,
charts, and histograms to display data. Users of MS Excel are able to organize data in
order to view various factors from multiple angles. Microsoft Visual Basic is a
programming language that Excel users can utilize to build a number of sophisticated
numerical techniques. Programmers have the choice of directly coding in Visual Basic
2. Explain Spreadsheet and its Basics.
- A spreadsheet is a document made up of cells arranged in rows and columns that may
be used to organize, compute, and sort data. A spreadsheet can contain text, formulas,
references, and functions in addition to numeric numbers.
3. Name some data formats available in Excel then explain.
- Accounting is one of the data formats in excel. Its purpose is to line-up the currency
symbols & decimal points in a column.
4. Give some useful functions in Excel.
- Using specified data in a particular order, a function is a preset formula that conducts
calculations. Common functions that can be used to rapidly determine the sum, average,
count, maximum value, and minimum value for a range of cells are included in all
spreadsheet systems. Understanding the various components of a function and knowing
how to construct arguments to calculate values and cell references can help you use
functions appropriately.
