Routine Activities
Prayer - Before we start our lesson let’s pray first, as we seek
God’s guidance and blessings in today’s class. May I
request __________ to lead the prayer.
- Praying!

- Good morning class, how are you today?

Greetings - We're good sir!
- Good to hear that class!

- Let’s check our attendance for today’s session.

Attendance
- Who is absent today?

- Impressive all are present. - None sir!

-Let’s talk first about, the things we need to remember

inside the class.
Classroom Management
-Okay?
- Let’s follow IATF guidelines for us to ensure our - Okay sir!
safety.
- Always wear your facemask.
- Social distancing is highly appreciated.

- Also let’s organize our class as possible.

- If your name is called, please respond respectfully.
- Respect each other’s opinions and ideas.
- If you have something to ask raise your hand.

-Are we clear class?

-Very Good!

- Yes sir!
A. Reviewing the previous lesson/ Motivation
- Last week we have discussed about the importance
of SMAW and its meaning.

- What is meant for SMAW? - Shielded Metal Arc Welding

sir!
- Very good student.

- Why SMAW is important? - because without SMAW sir

we can't form buildings,
gates, fences, vehicles.
- Very good!

- Any questions about SMAW?

- I guess none.

- Before we proceed to our lesson proper, let's have a

game first. The name of this game is "Guess the
picture".

Mechanics:

 All students are considered as participants.

 Students will guess the picture.
 Students will be given enough time to guess.

- Understood?
- Yes sir!
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
- Let's start our topic with a game.

- Are you all ready? - Yes sir!

- First picture

- welding gloves sir

- Very good.

- Next picture

- welding boots sir!

- The third picture
- welding jacket

- And the last picture

- welding mask

- Job well done class. Thank you for the efforts you've
put in our game.

C. Presenting examples/Instances of the new - In the workplace, workers should be safe. A safe and
lesson healthy workplace not only protects workers from injury
and illness, it can also lower injury/illness costs,
reduce absenteeism and turnover, increase
productivity and quality, and raise employee morale.

- To keep the workers safe, workers must wear PPEs.

- A Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is
specialized clothing or equipment worn by an
employee for protection against hazards that remain
after engineering controls and work practice controls
are in place.

- In our game earlier, what is our topic is all about?

- Very good.

- it's all about the PPE used

in welding sir
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new
skills # 1 - Our topic is all about the Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) used in welding.

- There are four PPEs that are commonly used in

welding:

1. Welding Mask - is a type of headgear used

when performing certain types of welding to - Weld, join, connect, attach,
protect the eyes, face and neck from flash and add.
burn, ultraviolet light, sparks, infrared light,
and heat.
2. Welding Gloves - protect the hands of
welders from the hazards of welding. These
gloves allow digit articulation while protecting
the operator from electrical shock, extreme
heat, and ultraviolet and infrared radiation,
and also provide abrasion resistance and
enhanced grip.
3. Welding Jacket - intended to protect welders
from metal splatter and high heat by the use
of fire resistant and thermally insulating
materials.
4. Welding Boots - a durable boot or shoe that
has a protective reinforcement in the toe
which protects the foot from falling objects or
compression.

- Any questions or clarification about the PPEs in

welding? Before we proceed to our activity.
- Very good students!

- No sir!
E. Developing mastery
(leads to Formative Assessment #3 GROUP ACTIVITY

- Alright class, you are going to perform the basic in

welding (creating a spark).
- Each students will be given two welding rods.
- Each students will be given 5 minutes to perform.

- And lasty, before starting observe SAFETY WHILE

WORKING, NO PLAYING WITH THE TOOLS AND
wear PPE correctly to avoid unwanted incidents or
ACCIDENTS.

- Are we clear?

Okay start.

- Yes sir!
F. Evaluating learning Criteria for scoring:

Create a spark - 60%

Safety - 20%
Behaviour - 20%

G. Additional activities for application or ASSIGNMENT:

remediation Please STUDY ABOUT THE DIFFERENT
TYPES OF WELDING ROD AND ITS
USES.
IV. REMARKS
V. REFLECTION
No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation
No. of learners who require additional activities for
remediation who scored below 80%
Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners
who have caught up with the lesson
No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
Which of my teaching strategies worked well?
Why did these work?
What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
What innovation or localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
