That happened to me once. It’s just temporary while


they do the applying. And it’s better than getting gunk
 on your car. If you need to go somewhere, they’ll
gladly stop and remove it, or you can pull it off
yourself. No big deal at all really, even though it feels
odd, and slightly violating.

Im a painter who gets sent to do this because I’m

young and it’s “easy”. It reminded me of the time it
was windy and I didn’t secure them properly. 10ft
plastic sheets flying everywhere with me running
around the block. I hated that day

 I'm probably recommending that company to others
 for doing the little things right. It's extra work that
saves a ton of hassle, hurt feelings, and insurance
 claims. Regardless of notice or not or who's at fault,
they took precautions to mitigate damage, and that is

I paint at a collision shop, and I've had to get industrial
 paint overspray from a nearby work site off of cars
before. They did you guys a favor regardless of lack of
notification. Big oops ya, but even if you successfully
get it off, it's extremely labor intensive and you won't
have a car, or be in a rental for a bit. Plus the car will
never look the same.

Got overspray on my Jeep when they painted the

I work for one of the biggest property management

companies in the US. I can guarantee you got an
email, a door notice or a message on your community
portal days or weeks prior that you missed or ignored.
The property has insurance that covers any

As a contractor. I have to say this, you likley knew the

knew exactly when, just you knew it was coming.

I do not ever waste my time "looking" for the owner of
vehical on site when I work. Neither will my

I lived across the alley from a Fire Department, and

there was a dude painting the railings of a balconies of

He was using a grey primer out of a large bucket, and

it was WINDY. It went all over the firefighters cars. If

I worked at a contractor counter at an industrial paint

 and coating retailer. One of the guys bit off a big job
sprayer-painting towers and water tanks at an

industrial park near an interstate. Let’s just say
 insurance was on the hook for millions in paint jobs
for passing motorists and company employees. No

Very loosely related story - Recently had some workers

on my block, they were doing some curb work I think.
I came out and noticed a big dusty handprint on my
hood. I drive a really nice car, and my hood is facing
my house, in the driveway, away from the street. I was
quite annoyed. I went and asked them about it and
none of them owned up to it. I mean it was just a
handprint, no real damage so I wasn’t a dick, but at
the same time there’s no reason for anyone to be in
my yard touching my car.
