This is going to get downvoted to shit, but let's not kid ourselves. None of us want the
homeless to suffer, until it's our OWN busstop they keep hanging around on. Then we
start complaining and calling the cops.

The problem isn't solved by letting them sleep in busstops anyway.

Emergency MediCare makes it so you don't need a suitcase full of money. Taxpayers
cover your costs, and maybe you get sent to collections because you can't cover the

In my city, bus stops are often taken over completely by homeless because of the shelter
and bench provided. Hospital is clearly trying to make it as unattractive to sleeping on as
possible.

I don’t think it’s as simple as “we hate homeless people”. Just from a practical standpoint, if a
homeless person is sleeping on there during the day that’s 4 seats that aren’t available to
people waiting for the bus. They could be elderly or disabled and need a place to sit while
waiting. There’s also the hygiene factor. I’ve lived in several cities with homeless problems
and it’s not uncommon to see them take a shit in the street in broad daylight. I didn’t look

People in this thread up in arms about this have never had to wait for a bus at a
homeless person's camp. You don't know how the person is going to react if you
accidentally wake them, especially if there is evidence of them drinking or doing drugs
(which there often is). Not to mention, you physically have no place to sit or stand out of
the weather because it whole shelter is filled with garbage.

So lets say you have a 10k budget. Your only reason for this budget is to develop a
seating area for waiting bus passengers. How do you you spend this budget while
completing your goal to have seating available for awaiting bus passengers? What your
referring to doesn't solve the initial problem the budget was for. I am all for actually
solving the homeless problem rather then just making it harder for them to find places to
sleep but you should attack the budget not the people that want a place to sit waiting for
the bus.
