    QUESTION 1:

    Load=100kg

    Safety factor=10

    Yield strength=200MPa=200*10^6 Pa

    Ultimate tensile strength=300MPa=300*10^6Pa

    Density of steel=7.9g/cm^3=7750kgm^-3

    Corrosion rate=100*10^-6m/year

    Thickness?
    Area=200*200

    Area=40000mm^2

    =0.04m^2

    Thickness=FL/Y*SF*A

    F=mg=100*9.8=980N

    Thickness= (980) (100)/ (200*10^6) (10) (0.04)

    Thickness=1.225*10^-3 m^2

    QUESTION 2:

    The most economic option is would be third option spray painting the whole frame as it is the cheapest
    option among the three given with a cost of 40/m^2.

    QUESTION 3:
    The less economic option can become most suitable when the service condition of the frame is such that
    it is exposed to harsh, environment or heavy use.

    For Example: marine or industrial condition. In such cases the corrosion protection offered by
    electroplating or spray painting would be more important than the cost difference.
