1. What is hook? Why is it important?

talks about the topic of the speech. Such as giving rhetorical questions, giving a surprising statistic, tell a
personal story, etc. Hook is important because it is gaining the attention of the audience, it is the main
sentence where the audience decides to continue to pay attention or not. Because if the audience is not
concentrating, If the audience does not care about what is the speaker talking about, there is no
meaning in delivering any speech.

2. What is IBC acronym? What should you have in each part?

IBC acronym is an outline of speech consists of introduction, body, and conclusion.

In introduction, the speaker should introduce oneself to a crowd, gaining the crowd’s attention by giving
a surprising statistic, asking rhetorical questions, etc., then Give a summary of the topic of the speech.

In body, the speaker should explain the main points according to the topic of the speech, we can also
support the main points by presenting statistic or a strong testimonial that can offer excellent
personalized support for your main points.

In conclusion, the speaker should summarize the main points he has explained before, and the speaker
should not add a new main point, and the speaker should give a “call to action” to persuade the
audience to do something after listening to the speech.

3. How should you end a speech?

To end the speech, we should sum up the speech to remind the audience what has the speaker
explained, then we should give a “call to action” to suggest the audience what they should do after
listening to the speech, After giving a call to action we should move to the Q&A section, in this section
we ask the audience is there any question according to the speech. After that, we should express our
gratitude to the audience that has come to our speech.
