I. NARRATIVE
Our professor has given us an activity. In this activity, we needed to create a narrative about
the behavioral assessment of color preference of a child aged 2-4yrs old. This activity will show
the behavior of the child before and after picking different colors of jelly ace. The narrative of the
subject will disclose this activity.

Our subject in this activity is John Marcus Annayo. He is only three years old and lives in
Barangay Comembo, Makati City. Her mother said that Marcus is experiencing late speech. When
we started to take a video and try to communicate and explain what he has going to do, he didn't
listen to us because Marcus's focused on playing with his toy car, and this was the first time he
saw us, so Marcus was too shy to interact with us. He is just staring at us while holding his toy car
and suddenly stare into his toy car and scrolls the one wheel with his finger in his right hand.
Marcus continuously played with his toy car, holding and putting it above the table, while his
mouth was pouting and humming, and his eyes were looking at the camera. Another factor we
think why we didn't get his attention is that Marcus noticed that there are taking a video of him.
According to Marcus's mother, this kid always wants to use a cell phone. With the help of Marcus's
mother, the selection of Marcus's color has begun.

When we started to show Marcus the five different colors of jelly ace, he began to focus
on picking a color. On 1st attempt chosen by Marcus is the color red jelly ace. Before Marcus
obtained the said color, based on our observation, this kid dropped his toy car immediately on the
table we used when he saw different colors. We also noticed that when Marcus started to pick in
his 1st attempt, there was a few seconds that he was thinking or deciding what colors to get. After
choosing the red one, it looks like he is now interested in picking up more, and he can't stop looking
and keeps holding the red jelly ace while we are asking him what color of jelly ace he picked, and
he said that it is color red. Then we said to him to get another one. In this favor, we felt his
excitement that he was waiting to remove the cover again.

In 2nd attempt, Marcus chooses the color violet. In this attempt, we observe that Marcus is
now confident in picking colors because it showed on a video that he picked faster without
thinking, deciding, and hesitation. When we ask him a question, Marcus always looks at the camera
and he said that it is color blue but when we said that it is violet, he immediately said that the jelly
ace that he was holding is color violet. Moreover, they are a piece of movement in his body that
we noticed, the slightly moving of his legs, and he always plays the new color of a jelly ace in his
hand. Maybe, Marcus was happy and enjoyed picking some colors. Now, he is ready and aware to
choose more because we mentioned that he could select again.

In 3rd attempt, Marcus chooses the color yellow. Based on a video, before we removed the
cover, we noticed that his mouth was opening while he was getting the yellow jelly ace. We think
this is just a sign that he is happy because we also see this based on how fast he took the jelly ace.
Moreover, there was a part where his jelly ace fell, and we saw that Marcus picked it up using his
right hand. He also pointed to the jelly ace with his right hand and said that it is color yellow. If
Marcus continues to practice using the right hand, the right hand will become his dominant hand.
We also observe that he can also learn quickly because if we ask him a question, Marcus can
answer it correctly. In this attempt, Marcus proved to us that he is also a good listener because on
the last part of his third attempt when we mentioned that he needed to choose again, he immediately
arranged the jelly ace properly on the table and waited to remove the cover.

On 4th attempt, Marcus chooses the color green. It was also the same on the 3rd attempt.
We noticed again that his mouth was opening while getting the jelly ace. Marcus can also answer
the question we ask. After Marcus chose the color green, he tried to put his hand under the table
while holding the orange jelly ace, and we think Marcus was trying and excited to open it. When
we said to him, picked again for his 5th attempt, we saw that Marcus's feet and legs were restless,
and Marcus also put the green jelly ace on the table. He always preferred himself, which is why
he is also fast to pick.

On the 5th attempt, Marcus chooses the color orange. In this part, after he chooses the
remaining color. We asked him what color of jelly ace was holding. Even though he did not
immediately answer the question, we saw that he was still trying to think by looking only at the
jelly ace we had given while his legs were moving. At the end of the video, Marcus pointed with
his right index finger all the jelly aces and mentioned their colors.
