NARRATIVE REPORT

On August 31, 2023, the College of Criminal Justice Education conducted an outreach
program for penurious children living in rural areas where even water can't be provided. The purpose
of this is to address the particular difficulties that kids in these particular situations experience.
Children who grow up in rural locations frequently face challenges relating to restricted access to
healthcare, education, and other necessities. Such outreach initiatives focus on enhancing general
well-being and giving rural children growth chances, catering to their unique needs.

Upon arrival at Nuevo Campo Elementary School, Ma’am Nikki tells the teachers of the said
institution that we are giving 175 school sets of school supplies, and we can see the joy that they are
feeling in their eyes when we give the school supplies. The teacher gave a certificate of recognition to
Ma’am Paray. After that, we proceeded to our next destination, which is Landing Elementary School.
Before we arrived there, we encountered many challenges, like passing the river and the unpaved
road. Upon arrival, there were a lot of people staring at us because they saw that we were caring
about many things. Then our instructors talk to the head teacher about what we are going to give
them, and he also shares information about the children: that because of the lack of food, the children
there ate the powder of chalk, and what the situation is there, like they don’t have water there; if they
want to take a bath or do their laundry, they will walk a few kilometers. The teachers let the children
out in the classroom, and our colleague, Mr. Arribe, gave games to the children; if they won, they had
a prize, like stop dancing, bring me, and who was the best dancer. We can see the happiness in their
eyes while participating in the game. After that one, we give the other 175 sets of school supplies and
hygiene kits. The teacher gave a certificate of appreciation to our school, which was received by
Ma’am Paray. In order to give them such a wonderful day before we leave. We ask them to dance
budots with us. At 5 p.m., we already leave the place because there are no lights on their roads.

In summary, the goal of an outreach program in rural areas stems from an understanding of
the particular difficulties that children in these kinds of settings encounter. These programs include a
variety of objectives that are carefully planned to serve the requirements of rural children in a holistic
manner, ultimately improving their well-being and offering them growth possibilities. These outreach
programs work to dismantle obstacles and have a positive, long-lasting influence on the lives of
children living in rural areas through focused activities.
