MUNICIPAL PEACE AND ORDER COUNCIL
MUNICIPAL ANTI-DRUG ABUSE COUNCIL
Rationale:
Peace and order and public safety are necessities in the provincial development endeavors.
Cognizant of the need to effectively address the peace and order imperatives of development,
Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code, supplemented by Executive Order No. 739,
subsequently amended by EO 773, mandated the reorganization of local peace and order councils
which shall be responsible to plan, implement, monitor and perform duties and directives emanating
from the president that would respond effectively in the maintenance of peace and order and the
elimination of insurgency problems in every locality.
In the said Executive Order, supported by DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2015-130 dated
November 3, 2015, the Department of the Interior and Local Government provincial, city and
municipal offices are mandated to act as the Local Peace and Order Council Secretariat to handle the
administrative and technical activities of the Peace and Order Councils.
The Municipal Peace and Order Council will meet at least once every quarter, hence this
activity.
Objectives:
1. To discuss Peace and Order and Public Safety situation within the Municipality;
2. To take actions on matters relating to peace and Order within their scope of authority.
DATE/VENUE :
The council meeting will be held at 3 rd Floor Conference Hall, New Municipal Building, Lupon,
Davao Oriental on September 21, 2022 (tentative).
