Activity: Check for Understanding about Freedom

1. Explain the meaning of freedom by explaining the following sentences

a. Positive freedom

- It is the power to exercise self-control. Controlling yourself entails being completely

unrestricted by any situations, explanations, or even the decision of duties or interests. Like

other notions, positive freedom cannot be fully grasped without considering all of its complex

elements. For this reason, this essay seeks to give two different ways of thinking about it.

b. Freedom is no abstract freedom is exercised through choices

- You can have a wealthy, full life or a meager, empty existence, but how much you get out

of life is mostly up to you. You are free to decide what you want to do or who you want to be.

The ability to determine your own fate is your greatest strength. No one has the right to take

away or restrict your birthright of choice-making from you. When you comprehend the

unchangeable principles on which your freedom of choice is based, the power that comes

with it becomes clear.

c. Existence proceeds essence

- Prior to being able to complete tasks that define themselves and their life, humans must first

exist. In a perfect world, only by initially existing can humans produce the essence. The

existence of human reality cannot be distinguished from freedom. There is no distinction

between a man's existing and his being free; a guy does not first exist in order to be free later.

2. Illustrate this with concrete example

Choices have consequences. In making choices, some things are given up while others are

obtained.

- If you had to choose between your aspirations and reality, the reality would be finding a steady

career that would allow you to live a stable existence while denying you the opportunity to pursue

your passion as an artist. There will always be options; all you need to do is choose the one that

will be the start of your problem. Better accept the reality that some of your skills are not meant

to be to attain your goals in life. Someone will make your first attainment achieve but the greatest

thing you need to do is to accept the choices you’ve made for life.

3. Based on your personal experience, give at least 2 situations that demonstrates freedom of choice

and consequences of your choices.

- The concept that a woman has the right to decide whether to keep or end a pregnancy may be

supported in politics by the usage of the phrase "freedom of choice." Similar arguments are

occasionally made about other topics such as euthanasia, vaccinations, contraception, and same-

sex marriage in the context of a claimed personal right to "freedom of choice."

Economic freedom of choice, meanwhile, ultimately depends on market competition because

customers' options are frequently influenced by a number of factors that are in the sellers' control,

like the general quality of a commodity or service and advertising. A monopoly prevents the

consumer from choosing a different producer while making purchases.

4. Exercise prudence in your choice and decision. What should you do in this situation?

- I will apologize for the missed actions I’ve done even though they don’t have any consideration.

I am a sick person that must have admission slip of absence but having no attendees present for

giving the slip is not my fault. It’s my choice to tell the authorities about the unfair happenings

inside the campus to give the students not just me a consideration to take the missed quiz.
