Before the Lesson
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
1. Reviewing Previous - Last meeting, we learned about energy and
Lesson or Presenting the different types of energy.
the New Lesson -So what is energy? -Energy is the
ability to do
work. Modern
civilization is
possible because
people have
learned how to
change energy
from one form to
another and then
use it to do work.

-Now, what are the different types of energy? - The different

types of energy
include thermal
energy, radiant
energy, chemical
energy, nuclear
energy, electrical
energy, motion
energy, sound
energy, elastic
energy, and
gravitational
energy.
-Now, let’s move on to our next lesson.

2. Establishing a -Show the pupils a mystery object. The pupils

purpose for the lesson will guess what the object is. The teacher will
give some description of the object. (Flashlight)

(Upon the teacher’s signal, the pupils will draw

the object that they have guess).
Possible answers
Comprehension check: of the pupils.
1. What is the source of energy of the 1. The battery
flashlight? 2. Chemical
2. What energy is present in the battery of the energy
flashlight? 3. Light energy
3. (Turn on the flashlight) what energy is show
when the flashlight was turned on? 4. 2 energies
4. How many energies was displayed by the
flashlight? 5. Chemical
5. Which comes first, light energy or chemical energy
energy?

-Today, we will find out more how an energy is

changed from one form to another or how
energy can be transformed. Come on and let’s
discover the wonderful world of energy
transformation.
3. Presenting
examples/ instances
for the new lesson

-Now we have here some examples of energy

conversion or transformation.

-So what can you see in the first one? -An apple and
-Very good, we can see an apple and a cyclist, cyclist teacher.
the apple represents the chemical energy and it
is consumed by the cyclist that gives power or
strength to do such activity so here, we can see
a transformation of chemical to mechanical
energy. Did you understand? -Yes teacher

-How about the next one, what can you see in -An extension cord
the picture? and a lamp
-Yes very good, in the second line we can see
an extension wire and a lamp. So, the extension
cord represents the electrical energy that will be
plugged in the outlet. Now when we plug in the -Light
socket of an electric lamp, what will the lamp
produce?

-Yes very good, it will produce a light. In short,

the lamp represents the light energy.
During the Lesson
4. Discussion new (The teacher will play a video about other
concepts and examples and procedures on how energy
practicing new skills #1 transformed)
5. Discussion new -So, from what you watched, what are the -Battery and
concepts and examples of energy transformation given? flashlight
practicing new skills #2 (chemical to light
energy)

-Very good, what else? --Electric socket,

charger, and
speaker( electrical
energy to sound
energy

6. Developing mastery -Form a group per line and then draw 6

(leads to formative examples of source of light . Give three artificial
assessment) and three naturals, do this on a 1 whole sheet of
paper.

7. Finding practical -what is the use of light energy source? -Exposure to

application of concepts natural light helps
and skills in real life our bodies
produce Vitamin D
-makes the
laundry dry
-for plants to
survive.
After the lesson
8. Making -What is energy transformation - Energy
generalization and transformation,
abstractions about the also known as
lesson. energy
conversion, is the
process of
changing energy
from one form to
another.
9. Evaluating Learning  IDENTIFICATION TEST Directions: Identity
what is being asked on the following sentences.
1. What type of energy is stored in batteries or 1. Chemical
food? energy

2. Energy that transfers heat is? 2. Thermal energy

3. What type of energy is flowing through a 3. Electrical

wire? energy

4. Energy
4. What is energy changing from one form to Transformation
another?
5. Electrical to
5. What energy transformations occur when a light
lamp that is plugged into a wall socket is
functioning correctly?

6. Which type of energy transformation occurs 6.chemical to

when a flashlight shines? electrical and to
light
7. Which kind of energy change occurs when a
candle is burning? 7. Chemical to
light energy

8. A television works by transforming electrical 8. Light, thermal,

energy into what other kinds of energy? and sound
