I. Preliminary Activities
A. Prayer

May, I request everybody to

stand, for us to start the class with a
prayer. Gina please lead the prayer.
Yes Ma’am.
Are you ready to pray ? Let us pray in
the name of the father, the son and the
holy spirit. Amen.

Heavenly Father and Your Beloved

Son Jesus Christ, Thank you for
another life to enjoy, another day to
learn, and a new set of things we will
experience. As we go through our
lessons today, may let us be
instruments to do good things. Help us
be obedient, honest, and kind to one
another. Amen.

Amen!

1. Greetings

Thank you, for that heartfelt

prayer Gina!

Before you set down, may you
pick all the garbage you can see
under your chairs. Kindly arrange Good morning, Ma’am,

your chairs as well upon seating.

    Good morning, everyone!

2. Checking of attendance

Are you seated according to

our set plans? If not go back to
your seat before I will check on
your attendance.
(Checking the attendance
according to seat plan)
It is very inspiring to found out
that there is no absence in the
Yes, Ma’am!
class. Keep it up class.

3. Setting of classroom rules

Before we start our class, I

want Jane to recite the classroom
rules that been agreed.

It has been agreed that no uses of cell

phone during classes and if ever
someone will be catch using first
offense 100 sentences of "I promise, I
will never use cellphone in class
again." 2nd offense 200 sentences and
3rd offense 300 sentences and so on
and so forth.

Yes, Ma'am.
Are we good with that?

4. Review of the Past Lesson

Let’s take a quick look at what
we have discussed in the most
recent meeting.

Me I call on JM to give as
brief review of what we have
discussed last meeting.

Very good! What else?

Yesterday, our topic is all about
Jamaila.
distance formula. We determine the
distance of two points by using the
distance formula 𝑑=√(𝑦2−𝑦1)2+(𝑥2−𝑥1)2.
Excellent! it shows that you
really understood our topic so
happy to hear it.
We also learned yesterday that
distance formula is derive from the
Pythagorean Theorem standard
B. Activity
formula which is c2 = a2+b2.

At this moment, I want you to

focus and investigate the illustration.

What can you see?

Yes, very good! How many points

it has?

Are you sure?

Ok! Can you name them? James.

A graph, Ma'am!
Thank you for that. Did you agree
with what James said?

3, Ma'am!
Hmm. Yesterday we’ve discussed
the about the distance of two end
points now can anyone solve for the Yes, Ma'am!
distance of these illustration.

Ok! Gina, yet before solving try to

give the coordinates of two points Point A, Point B and the center point
first. ma’am it doesn’t have a name.

Yes ma’am.

Very good! You really understood

yesterday’s topic. Now can you tell
what is this point implies?
Me, ma’am!

A(5,5) and B(3,-1)

|AB|=√(𝐱𝟐−𝐱𝟏)𝟐+(𝐲𝟐−𝐲𝟏)𝟐
x1 = 5 , y1 = 5 and x2 = 3 , y2 = -1
|AB|=√ (3-5)𝟐+(-1−5)𝟐
=√ (-2)𝟐+(-6)𝟐
=√ 4 + 36
|AB| =√ 40

Excellent! base from the

illustration it shows that it is the
center of the two points. Can anyone
point out what are the coordinate of
these?

?
Is it correct?

What are your bases in giving

that coordinate? Jamaila.

Very good! Now can you tell us

how can we determine the “center of It is the center of the two points
ma’am, Ma'am!
two points”?

Are you sure? What if the given

value of end points is higher number
do think you can still determine? (4, 2) ma’am.

Yes, your right. Yes, ma’am!

Base from the idea that coordinate is

compose of the x and y values where
the first number is the value of x and
the second is the y value.
By just looking at the illustration
ma’am.

No ma’am.

C. Analysis
What do you think we need to do
in order to determine the coordinate
of the middle point of two end
points?

We need to follow formula in solving

ma’am.
Very good! Do you have idea what
is it called then?

Maybe ma’am it can be called middle

point formula.
Excellent! Now, what do you think
is our topic for today? Mike.

It is all about middle point formula

ma’am.

Correct! It is all about middle point

formula or known as the “Mid-point
Formula”.

D. Abstraction
Now, be attentive and take note
as we go on to our discussion. John,
can you give the given coordinate of
the illustration earlier.

Given the given end points try to

apply this formula to find out if the
coordinate of the midpoint you cited
earlier are correct. A(5,5) and B(3,-1) ma’am.

Jamaila, can you show your

solution on the board.

A(5,5) and B(3,-1)

Thank you for that Jamaila, ok let
us check. x1= 5 , y1= 5 and x2= 3 , y2= -1
5+(−1)
Midpoint = ¿ , )
2
John can you show us other
solution.
4
=¿, )
2
Midpoint = (4,2)

Thank you John, Ok let us check!

A(5,5) and B(3,-1)

Do you agree with the solutions?
x1= 3, y1= -1 and x2= 5 , y2= 5
−1+ 5
What have you notice? Midpoint = ¿ , )
2
4
=¿, )
2
Midpoint = (4,2)

Very good! The appropriate way

in determining value of the
coordinate of the midpoint is by
solving using the formula.

Did you get it class?

Yes, ma’am.

Now can you get your assignment Either of the solution ma’am the
yesterday and let us check if your result is the same and it shows that we
answers are correct. have wrong assumption earlier.
Yes, ma’am.

Gina, can you show your solution

in which the value of M being
identified.

Ok ma’am!

Thank you, Gina. Now let us

check.

Are all things cleared class?

Excellent!

E. Application

A(2,2) and B(8,6)

This time I want you to get your x1= 2, y1= 2 and x2= 8 , y2= 6
lecture notebook and answer the 2+ 6

following and will check it afterwards
Solve theyoufollowing:
I will give 5 minutes to solve.

1. Find the Midpoint of points P Midpoint
(1,3) and Q (7,11).
= (5,4)
2. Determine the Midpoint of the points A (1,6) and B (5, -2).
Yes ma’am.

Are you all done?

Rogem solve for number 1 and

Lyneth for number 2.

Ok thank you, Rogem and

Katherine.Let us check their
solution.

Please be reminded class to

1 P(1,3) and Q(7,11)
always write the formula first it will x1= 1, y1= 3 and x2= 7 , y2= 11
serve as your guide and to prevent 3+11

x1= 1, y1= 6 and x2= 5 , y2= -2
F. Valuing

Since it shows that all of you 4

=¿, )
understand our topic, can someone 2
cite his/her idea how this topic
Midpoint = (3,2)
applicable in our life? Jamaila.

Very well said! Who else?

Yes,ma’am.

Good job! I am so proud of you,

Thank you, ma’am.

G. Evaluation

Now kindly get your quiz notebook

and answer this one.
Being knowledgeable of the midpoint
formula help me it easier to determine

the possible center of a certain
location.
Find the coordinates (in terms of
a and b) of points G, O, L, and D in
the figure at the right. (Remember
It make us more resourceful in the
that the coordinate of points on the
sense that in the absent of our
same vertical line share the same x
measuring equipment by the concept of
– coordinate while points on the
Midpoint,
same horizontal line share the same
y – coordinate.)
