Modern measuring instruments evolved in a

Let us go back years ago, we can see in the picture
the first measuring instruments they use.

This is the Cubit, an ancient unit of length based

on the length of the forearm from the elbow to
the tip of the middle finger and usually equal to
about 18 inches (46 centimeters).

- used in measuring the diameter of engine

2. Dial gauge
- is an instrument that measures thrust or
backlash. Dial gauge is also used in getting the
clearance of engine halves. It is more accurate
than feeler gauge.

The movement of pointer in the dial gauge

determines the amount of backlash being
measured.

1. V.O.M Tester
Kindly read the slide, Harry. -is a multi-tester. It is an electrical instrument
that measures or test the voltage, resistance
and current in a circuit.

V.O.M can be digital or analogue.

This is what digital V.O.M looks like. Digitized

screen and a direct number of data can be read at
once.
