Lesson Plan In

TVE- Machining

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
 Understand the parts and function of a micrometer caliper.
 Learn how to read and interpret the measurements on a micrometer
caliper.
 Practice using a micrometer caliper to measure different object accurately.

II. Subject matter:

Topic: How to read micrometer caliper
Reference: Competency-Based learning materials
Materials: Visual Aids, Images

III. Procedure:

Preliminary Activities

Prayer:
Teacher: (Algie Encabo) Lead the prayer (Algie): Yes Sir

Teacher: Stand Up
Students: Everyone Stand up and be silent.

Teacher: Listen to the prayer Students: Listen to the prayer

Greetings:
Teacher: Good morning Everyone Students: Good morning Sir Aldrin, Good
morning Sir Noel, Good morning classmate It`s
nice to see you today

Students: Thank you sir

Teacher: You may sit down
Attendance:

Teacher: Before we proceed to our discussion Students: Yes Sir.

Let`s have the attendance.

Teacher: Alquizar (Alquizar): Present

Motivation:

Teacher: you already learned parts of micrometer Students: Yes Sir.

caliper in the last lesson.
So today you will learn the origin of who really
invented, what year and where it was first made. Students: No sir.

Teacher: Do you know who invented Micrometer

objects on the board, everyone read
Students: At the end of the lesson the students
should be able to:
 Understand the parts and function of
micrometer caliper.
Teacher: So for today’s lesson we are going to  Learn how to read and interpret the
tackle about measurement.
 Understand the parts and function of a  Practice using micrometer caliper to

 Learn how to read and interpret the
measurements on a micrometer caliper.
 Practice using a micrometer caliper to
measure different object accurately.

Lacking of difficulties:

Accuracy and precision are two measures of

observational error. Accuracy is how close a
given set of measurements are to their true
value, while precision is how close the
measurements are to each other. In other words,
precision is a description of random errors, a
measure of statistical variability.

Axis is an invisible line around which an object

rotates, or spins.
Activity:
Title: Crossword Students: they will be performing the
Mechanics: task
1.) Student will be given crossword to answer and
enhance their observation
2.) They will be given enough time to encircle the
word given
3.) They will obtained their competitive skills among
classmate
4.) They will be given 10 points for their task

Analysis: (Norsean):
A micrometer caliper is a measuring tool
Teacher: (Norsean) What is the purpose of a that is used to measure the dimensions
micrometer caliper and how is it used in measuring of small objects with high accuracy. To
objects? measure an object, the jaws are placed
on either side of the object, and the
movable jaw is then adjusted until it is
Teacher: (Jeff) Why is it that we need to learn the basic just touching the object.
usage of micrometer caliper? And isn’t helpful in (Jeff): In the machining industry,
machining? micrometer calipers are widely used for
precise measurement of small parts and
components. They are particularly
useful in measuring the thickness of
materials such as metal sheets, which
can be difficult to measure accurately
using other tools.

Abstraction:
Students will listen to the teacher
“How to read micrometer caliper”

Parts and function of a micrometer caliper.

Frame: The frame is a C-shaped structure that holds

the other parts of the micrometer in place.
Anvil: The anvil is a flat surface that is fixed to one end
of the frame.
Spindle: The spindle is a slender rod that is threaded
and moves axially when the thimble is rotated.
Thimble: The thimble is a rotating sleeve that is
connected to the spindle.
Sleeve: The sleeve is a stationary cylinder that is
attached to the frame.
Locking mechanism: Some micrometer calipers have
a locking mechanism that can be used to hold the
spindle in place once the measurement has been taken,
preventing accidental movement and ensuring
accuracy.
Ratchet stop: Some micrometer calipers have a ratchet
stop that allows the user to apply a consistent amount of
force to the object being measured, ensuring accurate
and repeatable results.

Read and interpret the measurements on a

micrometer caliper.
Application: (Archie): Yes! Micrometer calipers are
designed to provide high-precision
Teacher: (archie) by using micrometer caliper to measurements of small objects, and
measure the thickness of metal sheets? Can they are particularly useful for
micrometer caliper accurately measures the thickness measuring the thickness of materials
yes or no? Support your answer? such as metal sheets.

Teacher: very well said

(Tubog): Learning how to calculate
Teacher: (Tubog) as you learn how to calculate measurements using a micrometer
micrometer caliper how can it be helpful throughout our caliper can be very helpful throughout
career your career, especially if you work in a
field that requires high precision and
accuracy in measurement, such as
engineering, manufacturing, or quality
control.
Teacher: Very good
