Weekly General Safety Meeting Report

Topic: Scaffold safety

Date:16th March, 2022

Facilitator: William Mason & Desmond and Bright

Venue: CSH office.

Time: 7:00am

The safety meeting was facilitated by the Site safety officer (Mr. Mason) and the CSHLC safety
officer(s). It was all about a scaffold safety training. Various component of scaffold materials (cup
lock scaffold) was brought at the meeting premises. Mr. Desmond the CSHLC Safety Officer and one
scaffolder demonstrated how to mount a scaffold on site. And the areas one should to check before
climbing on a scaffold, for instance the cup- lock nod. He said every individual should try and check
the cup lock if it been lock before climbing on top even though the safety officers and the scaffolders
expert often do that. Also, he added up with the reason why there is a need for the scaffolders to lay
wooden planks to serve as a platform to provide safer working surface for workers. Mr. Mason also
added up with the need for the carpenters and scaffolders to provide a guide rail to help hook safety
harness on it whenever one is working on the scaffold. Later, platform was open for workers to ask
question pertaining what was taught and also questions on safety issues on site.
