ASSIGNMENT ON FORCED DAMPED LINEAR VIBRATION

EXAMPLE 1
A simple vibration system with one degree of freedom is under spring control and the motion is
subjected to a damping force, which is directly proportional to the velocity. The equivalent mass is 2kg,
the stiffness of the spring is 15KN/m and the damping force is 7N at 1m/s. Find the amplitude of the
forced vibrations produced when a periodic force of 25cos100t acts on the mass.
