Dear Mr. Rizwan

I hope you are doing great these days.

I just want to apologize with you that I could not attend your retirement party held last Friday. My
youngest child suffering from high grade fever and cough and I had to rush to the doctor. There I was
told that I needed to stay in the clinic for a while because the child was to be nebulized twice with two
hours gap in between.

I would like to thank you for all your support and help as my supervisor. I learned a lot from you. Truly it
has been a very positive experience in my professional journey. I consider you as my mentor.

As a token of appreciation, I would like to invite you for a dinner at my home on coming Sunday. Let me
know if it is convenient for you. I will call you a day earlier as well.
