1. What does communication mean?
Answer:
Communication means a process of exchanging information or ideas. It is a tool
for a good relationship towards others. It is a two -way process of connecting to both
living and non- living things. Communication connects people and the world they live in.
It is through communication that people are able to express their thoughts and ideas or
convey information and messages through word of mouth, gestures and signals, signs
and others. People have always communicated with one another in various forms.
2. How important is communication to your personal and professional success?
Answer:
Communication is an important rule for us to have a better relationship with
others. Especially to my personal life. I can understand those people that I can mingle
with especially at home with my family. While in professional life, I can build a positive
working relationship and good communication skills towards my co- workers. And by
that thing, I can say that I have a successful communication.
Abstraction _Questions
Which for you is the element that is usually neglected in communication these days?
Answer:
On my point of view the element that usually neglected in communication these
days is decoding, the process of understanding or receiving the message. There are
people that they just read but they don’t comprehend the meaning of the message that
someone is sending. They just read it until they forgot to understand what thus it
means. Example the people who are angry.
What steps would you suggested others should enact to improve communication and lessen
misunderstanding and miscommunication?
Answer:
As a student who is good at communication, I can suggest to others that what they
should enact to improve communication and lessen misunderstanding and miscommunication
is that. Learn to talk less and listen more. Give way and go on.
Which model of communication greatly reflects how you communicate with other people?
Answer:
Osgood- Schramm Interactive model a kind of communication that greatly reflects
on how I communicate with other people. At this moment I am talking to my friend we’re busy
chitchatting for what happened yesterday.
With the current situation we are all in, what factors would you consider adding in any of the
models above? Provide a short explanation on such consideration.
Answer: Factors that I consider adding in any of the models above is the Safety factor,
why, it is because we need security at this time. While we are exchanging conversation, make
sure that we are safe. That is why safety factor is needed.
After learning the principles in communication, what have you realized by now when you
communicate to your friends, family, and everybody from school?
Answer:
I realized that there is a vital role in communicating, we should not just exchange
conversation without understanding because there is a possibility that you don’t understand
each other. Learn to listen and communicate with comprehension.
What good practices can you suggest to other people so that they can uphold values and
integrity in communication?
Answer:
Discipline, I can suggest to other people to know the value of discipline in
communication. This is a good practice that everyone should try to act, by discipline every
conversation that they do will be at a good situation.
What most likely will happen if only everyone adheres to the suggested guidelines for effective
communication?
Answer:
There is no good communication at all, if only one will do the best thing no good
relationship will happen. And not everyone can understand each other.

Application Final Task
In a place called Magsaysay Boulevard, is the perfect spot for couple. There is a man
standing in a grassland questioning his girlfriend about their future. And there is a lady
sitting on a bench answering the question that his man gave, with matching eye contact.
You can see to their eyes that they are full of love. They are talking in a calm and in nicest
way. Just like the day, perfect for the two of them. Its sunny with splashing of wind and a
sea breeze. In short, a good day for them. Their communication seems that they understand
each other. The man is talking while the lady is listening. Good relationships start there. A
lady starts talking with her sincerity answering a question that her boyfriend gave. As it is,
a man genuinely smile. He heard an answer that his waiting for. Though there are loud
noise of moving vehicles, they just ignore it. Instead, their attention was on their own
world. They are attentive to each other. The barrier is not a thing for them as long as they’re
communication is okay. No one can separate them.
As what I’ve noticed, their communication is one-way process. From sender to
receiver, it is because two only people is involved in their conversation. Each person acts
as both sender and receiver and hence use interpretation. As far as I know, the
communication is ethical, it is because the way of exchanging conversation and the way
they communicate they practice truthfulness, fairness, personal integrity and respect for
self and others.
On my point of view, I can say that the communication process that took place between
the communicators is from source- decoding-barrier -receiver-feedback. It is because their
communication process follows the Shannon-weaver’s model of communication. And
that’s how they act as a communicator.
As the members of the NCA believe that unethical communication threatens the well-being
of the individuals and society. Jake violate the guidelines for ethical communication which are the
truthfulness, fairness, and respect for self and others. Truthfulness, the way that he act he used his
roommate’s work and he didn’t bother to tell the truth. His act is out of truthfulness. Fairness, if
he used the information that he copied from his roommate he should name it to his roommate and
not to him. He should acknowledge the main author or source of the information. Respect for self
and others, his act he shows that he did not care about himself and he didn’t respect his roommate.
I may suggest to Jake that he should correct his act and don’t do it again. Respect and be
good to everyone.

What were your misconceptions about the What new or additional learning have you
topic prior to taking up this lesson? gained from this lesson in terms of skills,
content and attitude.
I thought that communication is just a simple I learned that in order for you to have a good
of exchanging communication. communication you should know yourself and
the people you’re talking to. Good
communication is a key for peace.
