Introduction:

Since its founding in 1969 by Md Morshed Alam, the Bengal Group of Industries has been under
the energetic and skillful leadership of vice chairman Md. Jashim Uddin. Bengal Group of
Industries is one of the conglomerates in Bangladesh. It includes Bengal Plastic, Bangladesh's
largest producer of plastic, which processes more than 3,000 metric tons of raw materials each
month. To satisfy the quality needs of our customers, a variety of incoming raw materials and
components are tested in the company's Quality Control (QC) lab. They have created a
contemporary tool room with the newest technology and highly trained specialists to maintain
continuous product quality throughout the production process in order to surpass the constantly
evolving tastes of foreign clients. Over the last five decades, the privately held industry which
currently employs over 32,000 highly qualified individuals across 28 units and the central office
has organically grown.

The company has constructed more than 100,000 SQ FT (9,291 square meters) of warehouse
space to handle the logistics and deliver the goods quickly. The goal of all we do is to improve,

industry's largest vertically integrated plastics firm, which enables us to increase quality, lessen
our impact on the environment, and give cost benefits to our clients. Because of the items' excellent
quality, reasonable cost, and first-rate service, customers prefer them. Bengal Plastics uses
Bangladesh's quickest, most automated, and most modern production lines to create its goods.
Automation and high-speed production efficiency gains are other significant components that
enable our clients to provide the greatest value. The business is devoted to product quality, not
simply talking about it. The company achieve this by running and maintaining cutting-edge
production facilities that are contemporary, effective, and certified with ISO 9001:2008 & ISO
14001:2004. The company have 30 product categories with more than 300 SKUs in the B2C

1.9 History of Bengal Group of Industries:

MD Morshed Alam started a small business in old Dhaka in 1969 after the Liberation war of
Bangladesh in 1971 he gave a huge effort and made the production and business a little wider. He
was the first to export goods made of plastic. Afterward, when he saw that the Garments products
are having demand in the market he began to produce garment accessories such as hangers. Foreign
currency was a major concern for them from the beginning. With creativity and technology, the
business keeps assisting the nation in exporting its way to prosperity. Md. Morshed Alam, the
founder, has higher goals to accomplish and contributions to the nation. Bengal and Bangladesh
underwent fast development and exponential growth for five decades in a row due to export
manufacturing.

in 2018. Pick4less' daily activities and assigning duties and responsibilities required more technical
skills than soft skills. That is why it corresponded to some of what I had learned in my academic
courses. However, the experience I've gained has enhanced my profile, portfolio, and career path.
It concludes with my activities, contributions, and findings concerning the Bengal Group of
Industries' e-commerce division.

2.5 Environmental: Bengal group has been working for more than three decades in the field of
plastic. It is now the largest manufacturer and exporter of plastic products in Bangladesh. Bengal
group prides itself for being the only plastic industry in Bangladesh accredited with ISO9001
certifications, ISO14001 ENVIRONMENTAL certifications. They make products which are
environmentally friendly.

2.6 Legal: Bengal group acts with integrity, excellence, accountability. Their integrity allows them
to reach their business success. Bengal group employees more than 200 people in Bangladesh. The
company is well organized, leading and largest among all the other businesses in Bangladesh.
Every manager, director, employee follows the value of integrity.

getting hard for Bengal Thermoplastics company to lower the production cost.
2. Unethical employees: Many unethical employees can disrupt the natural growth of a
company and it can also have a bad effect on companies reputation which can be a huge
loss for a company. It's hard for any company to know if their employees are ethical before
employing them in the company.
3. Less-known in the international business market: Bengal Thermoplastics is very well
known in our country. But in the international market, the company is having difficulties
establishing its business.
4. Unable to reach every corner of the country: Bangladesh is a developing country. So it's
normal to have many rural areas inside our country. Bengal Thermoplastics is having
difficulties reaching those rural areas of the country to establish the business.

3.3 Threats of Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics:


1. Data security: Online business and online data saving are getting more popular day by day.
It's easy and convenient. But the downside of it is someone might hack the system and steal
valuable data from the company.
2. Good competitors: Bengal Thermoplastics has to be ahead of its competitors or else the
customers might choose to buy the products from other companies.
3. Unstable political situation: Unstable political situation can be very problematic for a
company. It's a very big threat for a company like Bengal Thermoplastics to do business in
this kind of unstable political situation.
4. Change in customer needs: More advanced our society is becoming, the customer's needs
are changing as well. It can be a big threat for the Bengal Thermoplastics if they can't cope
with these changes.
5. Loadshedding: Insufficient electricity can happier the overall production of a company
which can be a big threat to the company's profit maximization.

1. Lower cost of wages: By lowering the cost of labor Bengal group can maximize its profit.
2. Lower taxation on import: Bengal Thermoplastics has to import many raw materials every
year. If Bengal Thermoplastics can lower the cost of the taxation on imports it can be very
beneficial for the company.

4.1 Detail description of the product

The introductory commercial structure BENGAL GROUP is as follows

Bengal group of company has a “Board of Directors” lead by a president. Chief Executive of
Bengal group is called “Managing Director” who's typically named by Bengal Group. Managing
Director is responsible for all feathers of significance and commercial performances of Bengal
Group each over the Bangladesh. He's liable to “The Board of Directors” of Bengal Group of
Company. This Board of Directors has administrative members and non-executive members.
Administrative members are Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director. Non-executives’
members are non-executive representatives from Bengal group, Investment Corporation of
Bangladesh (ICB), Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Religious Affairs.

4.2 Executive Committee of Bengal

Administrative commission is a veritably strong internal body in Bengal Group of Bangladesh,


which is called “Executive Committee” (EXCO). EXCO is the result of all the Departmental
Heads. It can take any decision related to the operation of the departments any time, and in any
situation but, latterly it's to be championed by the “Board of Directors”.

6.3: Business Performance: The margin of gross sales from 2015 to 2019 is approximately
around (8, 00,000-9, 50,019) taka. The cost of good sales is around (6, 00,000-6, 50,000) taka.
The gross profit till 2018 is around (2, 20,000 – 3, 30,000) taka, and the net profit is around
(95,000-2, 15,000) taka till 2019. Although in 2019-2020 revenue, the cost of goods sold, gross
profit, and net profit are quite low from the company standards due to the pandemic outbreak.
But in the year 2021, the company’s gross gross profit was around 1,59,459,171.000 taka, the
operating profit was 62,402,500,00 and the net profit was around 45,746,510 which even in the
time of pandemic is quite high, if we are to look at the current financial position of Bengal
Windsor Thermoplastics Limited in (2020-2021) it is as followed

Now, as we conclude in the times of covid-19 our life has been shut down completely even then
Bengal Windsor Limited is giving out their utmost effort in the economy of our country as they
play a great role in our garment sector. They are planning to increase their hangers and
accessories throughout the world’s largest retailers such as Walmart, K-Mart, J.C Penny,
Auchan, H&M, etc. in the USA, CANADA as well as the whole of Europe. Furthermore, in
recent times in the newspaper Daily Star, Bengal Plastics Ltd said they want to increase
production in an effort to boost their exporting ability and skill. The company also said that
within the next two years, they will spend around Taka 50 crore to increase the capacity of their
Savar factory, According to Md. Jashim Uddin, vice chairman of Bengal Group of Industry plans
to add around 500 new jobs, increasing the annual exports which are $42 million to an extra $20
million. To move forward for the betterment of their company.

Chapter 7
Conclusion: Bengal Group is one of the leading companies in Bangladesh serving the people of
the country through their products such as Food and beverage, and household. They believe in
the quality of products and the satisfaction of their customers. Because of this, we decided to
choose Bengal Group of Industries as our preferred company for this paper. Bengal Windsor
