Pre-Lesson Popcorn Prediction
1. Pupils are divided into groups of four.
2. Each group is given a popcorn box containing strips of quotes from the
texts.
3. Pupils take turns to read the quotes and predict what the text is about
in the given work sheet (FA: Time).
4. Based on the four predictions, pupils guess what the text is going to be
about.
Lesson Main Skill
Development 1. Pupils are provided with a general questions:
(a) What is each person’s opinion about SN sites? Is it positive,
negative or both?
2. Each group splits into 3-2
3. Teacher gives instruction of task (demonstrate reporting phrases and
repertoire)
4. The first halves listen to the conversation (in a different location)
5. They then come back to report what they have heard (Listen B)
6. Repeat steps for second halves
MA: Students jot down a brief a report
LA: Give phrases to support the spoken interaction
7. Pupils confirm their information
8. (Differentiation: Use a list of suggestions of problems and solution)

Main Skill
1. Individual task: Pupils transfer their answers into their exercise book
(Listen C)
2. Teacher gives instruction of task (highlight unfamiliar words, meanings
and pronunciation)
3. Play recording once for the pupils to answer
4. Play recording again for the pupils to check for answers
5. Quick scans: threshold 4/8 correct (if too many pupils get lower marks,
play recording again and dissect locations of answers.
Post-lesson 1. Pupils tweet about how similar or different is Wayne and his dad
situation with them and their parents

At the Hobby Con (Gallery Walk)
1. MA pupils become the presenters (volunteers 8)

6.Chips are given (exit card and voting card)
7.Pupils must have 4 chips individually at the end of the hobby con
