Greetings, young scientists!


Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), ISRO is organising “Human
Space Flight Expo.” as part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.” This
is a space-themed celebration to commemorate 75 years of
Indian Independence.
Join us in this 3-day event at Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium,
Bengaluru! Witness exciting events, live lectures, and
demonstrations celebrating ISRO’s advancements towards
human space exploration.

Type of Event Drawing Competition

Who Can Participate Classes 1 – 5 Refer Page 11.
Type of Participation Individual

How It Works:
▪ Up to 5 students per school shall be allowed to participate.
▪ Participants shall bring their own art supplies (crayons, paints,
colour pencils, etc.) on the day of the event.
▪ Only one A3 paper shall be provided on the day of the event.
▪ The topic shall be disclosed just before the start of the event.
▪ Winners shall be announced at the end of the event, and prizes
distributed on the spot.

Type of Participation Group (Teams of 3)

How It Works:
▪ Only one team per school shall be allowed to participate.
▪ Necessary kits for the workshop shall be provided to the
participants before the start of the event.
▪ Participants are requested to arrange their lunch.
▪ Relevant instructions shall be provided to aid the participants during
the event. A follow up test flight of the model shall also be
performed after the event.
▪ Evaluation shall be based on creativity, flight range, flight time, etc.
▪ Winners shall be announced at the end of the event. Prizes shall be
distributed during the closing ceremony on 24th July.

Type of Event Poster Presentation Registrations

Who Can Participate Classes 6 - 12 Refer Page 11.
Type of Participation Group (Teams of 2)
How It Works:

▪ Only one team per school shall be allowed to participate.


▪ Posters must be designed in A1 size (portrait orientation).
▪ Teams must specify the topic selected during registration for the
event. A soft copy of the poster must be submitted to the same
email in PDF format (max. size 20 MB).
▪ Participating teams are responsible for printing the posters and
bringing the same at the venue on the day of event.
▪ Teams shall be given a total of 10 minutes for presentation to the
judges, and 5 minutes for Q&A. In addition, teams are required to
exhibit their posters to the general public throughout the day.
▪ Winners shall be announced at the end of the event. Prizes shall be
distributed during the closing ceremony on 24th July.

Who Can Participate Classes 6 - 12
Type of Participation Group (Teams of 3)

How It Works:
▪ Only one team per school shall be allowed to participate.
▪ Teams shall comprise each of 2 students and 1 teacher.
▪ Participants are requested to arrange their lunch.
▪ The problem statement shall be disclosed at the time of event.
▪ Necessary material for model making (e.g. Cardboards,
moulding clay, Lego blocks) shall be provided to the participants
before the start of the event.
▪ Teams shall be given 2.5 hours for model making, and 10 minutes
for presentation to judges.
▪ The winners shall be declared at the end of each session.
▪ Winners shall be announced at the end of the event. Prizes shall
be distributed during the closing ceremony on 24th July.

Type of Participation Group (Teams of 2)

How It Works:
▪ Up to 3 teams per school shall be allowed to participate.
▪ A briefing of the problem statement shall be given at the start of the
event, followed by a questionnaire.
▪ Each team shall be given 20 minutes for attempting the questionnaire.
▪ Winners shall be decided based on highest score.
▪ Best performers of each session shall win giveaways which shall be
distributed on the spot.

Event Rules and Regulations


▪ A single focal point per school must be identified for sending all
entries for each event.
▪ Registrations for all events must be submitted to
akam4students-hsfc@isro.gov.in in the prescribed Excel
format. You may find the same attached in the invitation email.
▪ Registrations open on 9th July, 2022 at 16:00 hrs.
▪ Registrations close on 15th July, 2022 at 17:00 hrs.
▪ Only applications received through the given registration email
will be considered for selection.
▪ Students are encouraged to register through schools. Individual
registrations shall not be entertained.
▪ Limited seats only. Schools shall be selected on lottery basis.
▪ Respective time slots and event details for participation shall be
intimated through a confirmation email to the selected schools.
▪ Participants must report at the event venue at least 30 minutes
prior to the commencement of the event.
▪ The use of internet is strictly prohibited at the time of any event.
▪ Each school must arrange for transportation to the venue. Due to
unavailability of parking space, vehicles must depart after drop/
pickup at the venue.
▪ Decision of the judges for all events shall be binding and final.
▪ HSFC reserves the right to modify event rules and regulations on
the day of the event.
