Testing
Parameters  Clarity ( % Transmittance at 11.5º Brix @ 625 nm )

Sample Size
 20 – 25 ml

Sampling
Responsibility  Q.C. Officer

Sampling  Take 100 ml clean and dry beaker.

Method  Take 20-25 ml sample from finished product Tanks and leave the
sample for 5-10 min for cooling down.
Testing
Frequency  Take the sample from each tank.

Equipment Used
 Spectrophotometer (Model DR 2800)

 Turn the Spectrophotometer on.

 From the main menu, press SINGLE WAVELENGTH.
 Press OPTIONS for parameter setup.
 Press λ, and use the numeric keypad to enter the measurement
wavelength 625 nm.
Testing Method  Press OPTIONS again and Select % Transmittance.
 Take blank cell with distilled water, insert it into the cell holder and
press ZERO.
 Now insert the sample cell into the cell holder and press READ.
 Note the result on display.

Acceptance  Acceptable Clarity range of the Clarified Apple, Pear, Peach,

Criteria Pomegranate and Strawberry juice concentrate should be
≥ 95%.
